Doodlebugs – Just Wanted to Say…

Happy Monday everyone! I’m on the Doodlebugs blog today sharing a fun combo with Spellbinders and Pretty Pink Posh, throwing in one of my favorite Mama Elephant sentiment sets too!

Sometimes it’s crazy making and sometimes it’s fun when you have an idea and the creation of said idea does not turn out how it was going in your head. That’s exactly what happened here but I still love it and really had fun creating this card!

Let’s start by die cutting a bunch of the Spellbinders Modern Ovals – I chose the fourth one in from the smallest. I taped three of them to my work surface and ink blended the Pretty Pink Posh Trellis stencil using Lawn Fawn guava ink and a blending brush.

I arranged them on my card front, originally planning to pop them all up, along with die cutting my sentiment. But as I started to play, I liked the idea of the sentiment on one of the ovals – it fits perfectly – and only popping that one up for a little added interest to that specific spot. So I glued everything down and popped that one up. Then I trimmed off the excess with my scissors.

Next, I stamped and colored images from Pretty Pink Posh Crafty Critters with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and added them above the sentiment with foam squares.

Last, I decided to stamp the mini sentiment intro to the blank oval on the top for fun. I was quite smitten with myself when I thought of that. It’s so fun! And finally, for finishing touches I just added black glaze pen to the mouse’s eyes and glossy accents to his nose and parts of the crafty supplies.

Pixi Dust Designs – Adventure Awaits Fishing Card

Welcome everyone! I’m giddy to be sharing my card with you today. I loved this sweet fishing squirrel from the Outdoor Fun set and wanted to create a tag with him on it. But when I went through my Pixi Dust tag dies…the circle tag jumped out at my looking just like one of those old school red and white fishing bobbers! The rest is history!

To start off, I stamped and colored some images from Outdoor Fun and die cut them out, thinking I was making a tag.

But when I came across Tag B dies, I had to go with the giant fishing bobber idea. So I cut all the pieces to make two and used liquid glue to adhere them. Then I stamped my sentiment on one.

Next, I did a little ink blending and watercolor splatter to create a background for my scene. I used distress oxide inks in mowed lawn and tumbled glass with blending brushes and pearl watercolor from LH Colors for a little shimmer.

Now we assemble all of the pieces to a card base. Start by popping up the ink blended panel with foam tape on a card base. Then, glue down the bobbers with liquid glue and add the images with foam squares.

The top of the card was missing something so I decided to add a little cloud cover so no one gets sunburned today. Isn’t this just adorable and so fun!?!

This set is going to make it really easy to make masculine cards for tons of occasions which I love too!

Pink & Main – New Fall Foilables Mix and Match with Stamped Images

Hi everyone! I’m over on the Pink & Main blog today with a fun fall card using the one of the new Foilables card fronts and some sweet critters from a new stamp set too. They work so fabulously together. I love it!

I started by foiling one of the Thankful Pumpkin Foilable panels. I chose bronze for the sentiment and fairy wings peach CheerFoils for the pumpkin. Then I stamped and colored some cute critters from the Warm and Cozy stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and started putting things together.

When deciding my placement I didn’t love the white border on my card base so I inked it up with shabby shutters distress oxide ink. I spritzed it with water and popped the foiled panel up on it with foam tape. Then I splattered the whole thing with black paint for some distressing.

I popped up my critters with foam squares and added Touch of Gloss to all their noses, the pumpkin stem and acorn hats. I like the little bit of shine on the images with the beautiful foiling in the background.

Newton’s Nook – Apple-solutely Wonderful Day

Hello everyone! I’m happy to be here sharing a simple and fun project using the Newton’s Nook Autumn Apples stamps and dies. I love these images and the variety of sentiments to pair with them. It makes a this a great year round set, not just for fall!

I started by repeat stamping and heat embossing the main apple image on red, yellow and green cardstocks…I wanted a variety of apples for my card! Then I used the coordinating die to cut them all out.

Next, I cut a piece of black cardstock with the largest Framework die and a piece of white cardstock with the next-to-smallest one in the same set. I stamped my sentiment on the small one and ink blended some chalky white pigment ink on the black one…you see where I’m going here. Chalkboards and apples for back-to-school!

Next, I arranged the apples all over the black panel and glued them down with liquid glue. I added foam tape to the back of the panel and popped it up on a white card base and then added the sentiment to the center with foam squares too.

We don’t start school here until after Labor Day so I’m excited this set came out in time for back-to-school projects for us!

Doodlebugs – I’ve Got You Covered

Hi there! So happy you stopped by today. I’m on the Doodlebugs blog sharing this super fun encouragement card featuring a combo of Mama Elephant and Spellbinders stamps and dies. I know it’s summer and we’re all roasting to death with the heat everywhere but I couldn’t resist a little rainy day fun.

I started by die cutting the elements for my umbrella which comes from the Spellbinders Umbrella Bloom die set. After using liquid glue to assemble it all, I pulled out the Mama Elephant Rainy Days stamp set to choose a critter to hold my giant umbrella. This little bunny was just the perfect fit!

I stamped and colored him with copic markers, then used the coordinating die to cut him out. I used liquid glue to adhere the umbrella handle to his hand and lined the back of both with foam squares. Then I cut the Mama Elephant Raindrops cover from white cardstock and ink blended a little teal ink over the center portion.

I went back and forth on the color to put behind the raindrops but landed on a textured teal cardstock from my stash. I used liquid glue to adhere the layers, plus add it to a white card base as well. Then I chose my sentiments from the Spellbinders I’ve Got You Covered stamp and die set. I pulled out the Lawn Fawn sentiment banner die for the smaller sentiment. Then I added foam squares to the back of these too.

After adhering all the elements to my card front, I came in with glossy accents on the bunny’s nose and coat buttons. Then I added stardust Stickles to the raindrops that are bouncing off the umbrella.

Wouldn’t this totally lift your spirits if you got it in the mail? I think it would!

Pixi Dust Designs – Making Memories Camping Slimline Box Card

Hey friends! It’s release day for Pixi Dust Designs and I’m excited to be sharing a fabulous camping themed box card using one of the new stamp and die sets that’s available!

Here’s a look at the finished card, then we’ll take a simple step-by-step how to put this box card together and decorate it with your favorite cuties, whether it be these new adorable camping squirrels or something else from your stash.

Start by die cutting all of the pieces from the Fall Box Card die set – parts A and B. I decided to cut them from the same color because I will be ink blending them to help parts stand out.

One think I didn’t photograph but is good to mention now, is that I cut a second back panel (the largest piece) from white cardstock and glued the two together. This gives me a nice big white space to write a message to the recipient but totally optional. It also covered the tabs.

I used rustic wilderness distress oxide ink to add depth and interest to each piece that has little grass tufts on it. The pieces that are left plain will have inked pieces glued to them.

Next, we add tear tape to all of the tabs. When I’m adding tape to something like a box card that will get wear and tear, I like to add pieces larger than the tab and trim off the excess so I know the entire tab has adhesive on it.

***Pro-tip so you don’t make the same mistake I did*** On this piece with the embossed lines, add tear tape to one tab and turn it over, adding tear tape to the opposite side for the second tab.

After adding the large tab to the back panel, I had to remove this adhesive and add a new piece to the opposite side. This was I can hide my tabs and they won’t be seen. It just keeps your final card cleaner.

After adding the sides to the back, I added a middle section to each emboss line. I chose to line the flap with the back of the embossing line but you could use the front. Then I added the front panel to the far left as you can see here as well.

Next, fold everything flat, remove all of the release paper from the remaining tabs and secure the other side. After that fold your box card back and forth a bit to reinforce those fold lines and make sure everything lines up.

Now, it’s time to decorate!

I added 1/8 inch tear tape to the bottom of each of my images and added them to all of the sections, filling in the whole box card. We leave for camping tomorrow so this card was extra fun for me to create because I’m really in the mood.

Here’s a look at it folded flat and ready for an envelope. How exciting and fun will this be for someone to pull out of an envelope!?!

Miss Ink Stamps – Sanity is Overrated

Happy Thursday everyone! I’m happy to pop in a second time today with some inspiration featuring magical things from Miss Ink Stamps. I’m so happy with this line and how inclusive it is. Today I pulled out Stay Weird and went a little lighter with my colors for a change.

I stamped and colored a few images from Stay Weird and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I used liquid glue to adhere the glasses to Luna’s face and set everything aside to work on my background panel.

I took a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with light pink and blue dye inks using a blending brush, randomly. Then I used Pixie Spray on my Wonky Scallops stencil and stuck it to the panel. I went back over with the same colors in about the same places just darkening the pattern. After removing the stencil I taped the letters from the EIEIO dies spelling “sanity” and cut it from the stenciled panel.

Next, I inked the edge of a white card base with the same pink and glued white glitter paper where the die cut letters would show through. Then I popped the stenciled panel up with foam tape. I glued the shoes to hang from the letters and popped Luna up with foam squares. Then I placed the whole thing in my MISTI and stamped my sentiment on the bottom right.

I really had fun creating this card, using colors outside my typical realm and finding fun ways to enhance my sentiment.

Newton’s Nook – August Release Day 4

I can’t believe it but we’re already to the final day of release reveals for the Newton’s Nook August Release! I hope you’ve loved it all and are eager for tomorrow morning when it’s all available in the Newton’s Nook shop! But first, let’s get on with our final reveal.

Newton’s Harvest Time stamps and dies

This image is large and fantastic to fill your card front. Plus all those small images are great for filling in a scene or maybe making a patterned background too.

Today I colored the images with copic markers and using the coordinating dies to cut everything out. Then I used liquid glue to add my small images to the bottom of the wagon.

I used the new Autumn Leaves hot foil plate on a piece of kraft cardstock using orange foil. Then I die cut the panel with the largest Frames & Flags die and ink blended the sides with gathered twigs and ground espresso distress oxide inks. For a dark pairing, I inked the edges of my card base with aged mahogany distress oxide and popped the panel up on that.

I popped my images up with foam squares and then for my sentiment, I hot foiled one of the new Autumn Greetings on white cardstock using the same orange foil. It’s die cut with a Banner Duo die and popped up the same as everything else.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to Newton’s nose and all the pumpkin stems.

Newton’s Nook – August Release Day 3

Things are chugging along and we’re already to day 3 of the Newton’s Nook August Release reveals. Let’s check it out!

Autumn Apples stamps and dies

Seriously, are these not the cutest images with the most fun sentiments ever!?! I love them! Also, have so many ideas to get going on too!

Today I chose a couple of images from the set to stamp and color with my copic markers. Then I took another images and repeat stamped it all over a piece of white cardstock for a custom background.

After stamping, I took a blending brush with the same color ink and blended from left to right, rading out as I went. Then I pulled out the Circle Frames and Frames Squared dies to find the right size circles for my background focal point and sentiment.

I heat embossed my sentiment on one of the circles and then added everything to the stamped panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares. For finishing touches I added white gel pen highlights all over the images.

Pink & Main – Sneak Peek Week

Hello again! I’m on the Pink & Main blog today for sneak peek week using the August release which will be available on Friday! For all my coffee loving friends and those of us dying for fall, get ready!!!

There’s a new stamp and die set comping on Friday called Thanks a Latte and I’m completely smitten with it! Adorable images and some fun sentiments to go with it. Today I’m pairing a couple of those with a new Crosshatch die that gives great texture to your backgrounds!

To step up the fall feel of my card, I used the Leaves embossing folder on my panel and some Sunny Water Gems watercolor before gluing the crosshatch down. I popped my images and sentiment up on that. Then, I added the whole panel to a white card base with foam tape.

For finishing touches I added black glaze pen to the eyes on the cups and touch of gloss to the stripes and leaves too.

It’s been over 100 degrees here for too many days in a row and this Oregon girl was not built for the heat. Playing with fall is quite a welcome distraction.

Thanks a Latte stamps and dies
Crosshatch die
