Therm O Web – Hello Spring

Hello everyone! I’m really excited to announce that I’ve joined the Therm O Web team! Today I have a sweet card for you featuring the bunny print from the newly released Basket of Fun toner sheets pack.

Here is a list of all the products I used on today’s card:
Basket of Fun Toner Sheets
Ocean Blue Deco Foil
Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide
Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide
Scattered Straw Distress Oxide
Paperie Ink Hello Hummingbirds stamps
Therm O Web tape runner XL
iCraft 3D foam squares
Glossy Accents
Sakura white gel pen
Sakura black glaze pen
Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen

To start things off I decided that I wanted to use the bunny toner sheet from Basket of Fun and Ocean Blue deco foil. I pulled out my supplies, trimmed my deco foil and placed the foil and toner sheet in my parchment paper transfer sheet. Then I turned on my laminator and while it was heating up, I stamped my images and colored them with my copic markers. I’m not a fussy cutter so I used my scan-n-cut to cut the images out and set them all aside. Once my laminator was good and hot, I ran the sandwich through and revealed the beautifully foiled blue bunnies! Super cute!

I didn’t want a white background with my bunnies though so this is when I chose distress oxide colors to blend over the panel. I went with cracked pistachio, squeezed lemonade and scattered straw. After blending, I used a cloth to wipe off excess ink from the foiled areas and spritzed my panel with water. Then I decided for a little added interest to flick some watered down black acrylic paint on the panel too.

Now for the fun part! I used my tape runner to adhere the foiled panel to a white card base. Then I added foam squares to the back of all my images and put them in place where I wanted.

I really enjoy adding some little bits of finishing touches to my cards so I started these with white gel pen accents on all the images and then went in with a black glaze pen for the eyes. I love the added shine and interest this gives the critters.

Then the last two things I did was add glossy accents to the bunny’s nose and hummingbird’s beaks and feet. For a teeny bit of shimmer I added Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to the hummingbird wings too.

I hope you found some fun inspiration to create something wonderful. I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Paperie Ink – Hello Sunshine Poolside

Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week! Today I have a bright and happy card to share with you featuring a couple of newer release items from Paperie Ink and Spellbinders.

I fell in love with the entire last release Paperie Ink had and splurged on Mother’s Day to pre-order myself 2 of the new sets. This one – Hello Sunshine – had me immediately wanting a pool to put them in. Well, at almost the same time, Spellbinders had a new release and I picked up Pool with a View on my next ScrapbookPal order.

To create this card, I started with the background, inking picked raspberry and mermaid lagoon distress inks on a panel and spritzing it with water. Then I die cut the inner part of the pool and inked it with mermaid lagoon and spritzed it too. I die cut the outer part of the pool from gray cardstock and lightly inked the edge with black soot for a little dimension and moved on to my images.

I chose a couple of critters and flowers from Hello Sunshine and paired them with leaves from Toucan Party. I colored these with my copics and used my scan-n-cut to cut them all out. Then I started working on placement.

Once I had an idea, I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment and started adhering images with liquid glue. I find this works best with panels that have been inked with distress or distress oxides.

Finally, I moved on to finishing touches which were pretty simple. I added white gel pen accents throughout the images, glossy accents to the noses and flower centers and Unicorn Stickles to other flower centers. I also used black glaze pen on the bunny’s eyes to help them shine a little.

This card has me dreaming for summer and a week by a pool with no adulting necessary! Maybe someday. Haha!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Paperie Ink – Hello, I Miss You So Much

Welcome back everyone. Thanks for stopping by. Today I’m sharing a card by a new-to-me stamp company just starting out on Etsy called Paperie Ink. Her images are to-die-for adorable and I was very fortunate to win an Instagram contest that gifted me three sets recently.

I finally took time to play with one – Hello Hummingbirds – and had so much fun creating this little scene.

For this card, I used my stamps to get an idea of the layout to make sure everything would fit. Once I decided, I stamped them out and colored them with copics. I used my scan-n-cut to cut them out and moved on to the large image and final layout.

I die cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with the smaller scalloped panel in the Newton’s Nook Framework die set and stamped the hello image with copic-friendly ink. I colored it up and stamped the rest of the sentiment in gray below it. Using my images for a guide, I stamped the water sprinkling out of the watering can in the same gray.

Moving on to final assembly, I trimmed down some text patterned paper and adhered it to a card base. Then I popped the scalloped panel up with foam tape and added my images to that with foam squares. Some parts that are hanging off have double layered foam squares to keep them laying nice and flat.

For finishing touches on this sweet card, I added glossy accents to the bird beaks and feet, the bunny’s nose and water in the watering can. I also added white gel pen accents throughout the images and black glaze pen to the eyes.

I hope you enjoyed this sweet card today.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
