Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Pink & Main Mermazing

Fancy meeting you here again! Today I’m over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog with this fun card and tag combo featuring the Mermazing Coffee stamps and dies from Pink & Main. Keep scrolling to check it all out!

I’ve been wanting to try embossing with a background die for a while and this card just seemed like the perfect scenario to try it out. I did some ink smooshing with my Tombow brush markers to create the bright fun background and then, using the embossing sandwich for my die cutter, embossed the panel with the Neat and Tangled snake scales coverplate die. I trimmed it down to 4×5.25 and set it aside to work on the rest of my card.

I stamped, colored and die cut my images from Mermazing Coffee, not totally sure what I was doing with my card. Then I decided to cut a vellum heart using the Trinity Stamps nested hearts and heat embossed my sentiment. I attached my mermaid with foam squares.

I decided to add some jute twine around the background panel for a little fishy texture and then adhered my heart over that. I finished my card off with some Wink of Stella glitter brush pen on the mermaid tail, Stickles on her cheeks and heart in her hair and finally a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops across the design.

But I still had an extra image I didn’t use…so I thought a fun coordinating tag was in order.

I die cut the tag pieces from Newton’s Nook’s Fancy Edges Tag die set and adhered them together. I stamped the sentiment from Mermazing Coffee and also some hearts from the set too. I popped the image up with foam squares and added a little Wink of Stella glitter brush pen here and there for some extra shimmer. Then I thought it needed more so I grabbed the glossy accents and added some of that to the mug on all the pink areas…and then finished it off with some teal twine I had in my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my little project today and found some inspiration to create something wonderful.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Neat & Tangled – CLC Spring-Summer Hop

Okay, how many dog lovers do I have out there? I definitely have quite a few in my life; so when I found this cute Neat & Tangled puppy’s favorite things set I had to grab it. I’ve already made a fun birthday card with but I couldn’t resist a little coffee hello card given that the set has this adorable mug in it!

I started this card by stamping, coloring and die cutting my images. Then I took a piece of teal cardstock and used my Newton’s Nook gingham stencil on it with some darker teal ink. I love the tone-on-tone look! I picked up this fun hello there stamp set at the same time I found the puppy set and loved the bold sentiment. I decided to heat emboss that part in black for a little shiny texture and then popped my images up with foam squares. This panel was then popped up with foam tape on a kraft cardbase.

For finishing touches, I added black glaze pen to the eyes and nose, white gel pen highlights and glossy accents on the mug.

Isn’t he the cutest?!? I just love him and all the things you can put in his paws.

I’m linking this card up to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring-Summer Hop HERE. Remember, there’s still time to play along.

Neat & Tangled – Puppy’s Favorite Things

Welcome! I picked this sweet puppy up from Neat & Tangled a while ago and finally had a chance to ink him up. He’s just adorable and so fun to color! I paired him with some fun Newton’s Nook products to create a birthday card for a change of theme these days.

I started by stamping and coloring the images from Puppy’s Favorite Things and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I grabbed my Newton’s Nook balloons stencil and my Trinity Stamps blending buddy brushes to ink up the balloons different colors. Then I used the Framework dies from Newton’s Nook to cut the panel out along with an orange woodgrain floor. I trimmed down a teal piece of cardstock to 4 1/8×5 3/8 and popped the stenciled panel on it with foam tape. This is all glued to a white card base.

I had used the special die to cut the puppy’s hands out so he could hold the cupcake so I glued that in place. Then I added foam squares to the back of all my images and put them in place. Last, I die cut a banner from the Newton’s Nook Frames and Flags set and stamped my sentiment. This banner is also popped up with foam squares.

For finishing touches I added white gel pen accents throughout the images, black glaze pen to the puppy’s eyes and nose and glossy accents on a few images. I also added sprinkled sugar Stickles to the cupcake frosting and yellow Stickles to the top of the birthday hat.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Under the Sea Animals Card

Hey! Hey! Happy Friday!!! Remember that amazing mermaid card from Monday…well, I told you the other half of the background would be coming soon. And today is the day with this awesome Simon Says Stamp Under the Sea Animals card.

Here’s how I did it.

  • I glued the Neat and Tangled snake scales backdrop frame to a piece of cardstock and adhered it to a card base.
  • Stamped the fish on cardstock and colored them with copic markers. Then die cut them all and started arranging them on the background.
  • Once I liked their placement I glued them all down, stamped a sentiment and cut it into a strip gluing that down too.
  • For finishing touches, I added Ink Road Stamps gems throughout and then took my wink of stella clear glitter brush and colored in a few random scale openings over the whole background to add some shimmer.

This really was a simple card to create but the color palette is so pretty and fun. The sentiment is great for encouraging anyone going through a tough time.
