Spellbinders – Showered With Love

Hi friends! I’m super excited to share a couple of projects with you featuring today’s Showered With Love release from Spellbinders! This collection is over the top adorable and was so much fun to create with! I have a pair of cards today and will be back with another one later this week.

These Raining Hearts dies pair perfectly with the Umbrella Bloom set and give you so many options to create! Today I used the actual raindrops for my background on both cards but there is also a version with heart shaped rain drops that is too cute!

First up, I used some distress oxide sprays to create a textured background. While that was drying I die cut the pieces for an umbrella and inked them all yellow. After inking I used liquid glue to assemble to pieces together.

I chose white glitter paper for the raindrops and tied it back in as the shadow for my sentiment. The background panel is popped up with foam tape and the umbrella is popped up as well. I glued the handle directly to the card front and popped the sentiment up too. This held the handle in place since I didn’t have foam small enough for the skinny handle.

For my second card, I used a peach cardstock, inked the edges with light orange and splattered it with the orange ink and white paint. I chose a melon cardstock for my umbrella and just inked the back layer with a similar color to give it some dimension and shadow.

This time I used blue cardstock for my raindrops and sentiment shadow. Everything is assembled the same except I glued the sentiment directly to the panel this time. I think both ways look nice.

Ellen Hutson – Chew Make Me So Very Happy

Today I’m sharing a few projects with the new So Chewsy stamps and dies, plus the Essential Heart dies too! I have some simple tags that would be great for gift bags at school or maybe your office and a coordinating card and tag combo that would be perfect for a loved one or friend.

First, I stamped the images and sentiments for these tags with Catherine Pooler inks and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I popped the gumball up with a foam square. Then I cut a second gumball machine, punched a small hole through both layers and tied them with twine. This gives room on the black layer for a message and to/from, plus the string is long enough to tie around a goodie bag. Aren’t they so cute?!? I love these sentiments!

Next, I used some brighter Catherine Pooler inks to make a second set of gumball machines. One has a sentiment and the other does not so I could fill the shakers with different elements.

For the card, I cut a couple sizes of Essential Hearts and used the frame of one with the inside of the other to create a base for my gumball shaker. I heat embossed a sentiment on the vellum heart and layered everything on the Nordic Cross cover panel. I thought this gave some fun background texture.

Newton’s Nook – Happy Brr-thday! Action Wobbler

Hello everyone! I hope the first week of the new year is treating you amazing! I’m starting a new term designing for Newton’s Nook which makes my heart SO HAPPY! Today I’m on the blog with a fun, interactive winter birthday card. I think I have yet to create a card with either of the adorable snow angel images without putting them on action wobblers. It’s just so inviting and fun, I have to do it!

To start my card, I took a piece of white cardstock and blended distress oxide inks all over it in a rainbow of colors. Then I stamped and heat embossed the Snowfall Roundabout stamp in white. I spritzed the panel with water and blotted it dry before die cutting it with the largest Circle Frame die. Then I stamped and colored Snow Angel Newton with my copic markers and used the coordinating die to cut him out too.

Then, I took another piece of white cardstock and taped it to the Snowfall stencil and spread iridesent glitz glitter gel from Thermoweb through it. I set the panel aside to dry while I die cut and stamped my sentiment on a banner from Banner Trio dies. This sentiment came from the Snowman Roundabout stamps because I wanted to create a birthday card today.

Once the glitz gel was dry, I used the largest Frames & Flags die to cut it out. Then I started assembling all the layers. The glitz background is popped up on a teal panel with foam tape, then the rainbow circle was popped up the same way on that. I added the sentiment banner with foam squares and finally added Newton with an action wobbler.

For finishing touches I just added glossy accents to Newton’s nose and toe beans, along with the white parts of his hat.

This card is so adorable and just so fun! It’s great to start stocking my birthday card stash for the year too!

Pink & Main – You Party Animal

Hello everyone! It’s time for more Pink & Main inspiration. With the new year comes a need to restock my birthday card stash so you’ll be seeing more of that for a while. I hope you enjoy it! Today I’m pulling out one of my very favorite birthday sets of all time – Party Animal. These critters are the cutest and are so fun to color! I couldn’t believe that I actually hadn’t used the giraffe yet so I had to change that immediately!

I stamped and colored him with my copic markers straight away, then die cut him with the coordinating die. I also stamped and cut out a sentiment with a large sentiment banner. Next, I cut the Dotted Cover pieces from white and blue cardstock. After laying my image and sentiment banner out for placement, I thought the design needed something. So I pulled out my adhesive sheets and cut three strips – 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch.

I stuck them to the blue panel and pulled the release paper off the top one strip at a time so I could add three different colors of super fine glitter – foliage, lemonade and ice rink were the colors I chose. I love this!!! Then I glued the dotted layer to the white scallop and popped the giraffe and sentiment banner up with foam squares.

I popped the scallop layer up with foam tape on a white card base before moving on to finishing touches. So I didn’t detract from the fun texture going on too much I just added a touch of gloss to parts of the giraffe, his hat and cake. Then I added a scattering of glitter enamel dots from the Butterfly Kisses pack.

I had so much fun switching gears out of holiday crafting to a fun and bright color palette with tons of texture! I’m always excited for holiday crafting but that transition after so many months is fun and refreshing.

Trinity Stamps – New Release Day

Hey crafty friends! It’s release day for Trinity Stamps and I had the pleasure of playing with some of these goodies early. They are so fun to create with. I have a card and a pillow box to share with you today and will be back soon with even more!

For my card today, I inked up the awesome Checkered Background: Hearts stencil layers on a melon cardstock. I faded the inking as I went down the panel just a bit. I feel like that detail shows up much better in person than in photos.

I kept the two cutting dies in the Dainty Heart Die and Foil set together to cut out a beautiful frame. I added foam strips to that and popped it up on the stenciled panel. Then I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day from Sucker For You and used the coordinating die to cut it out before popping it up with a foam strip as well.

I adhered the panel to a white card base and my card is all finished. I love how simple but pretty this card turned out. If you wanted to step it up a bit you could add a scattering of glitzy embellishments across the design or turn that heart frame into a shaker too! Lots of fun options!

Next, I pulled out my very favorite Pillow Box dies to create a treat box for Valentine’s Day and paired it with the fun Sucker For You stamps and dies.

I started by stamping and coloring the image from Sucker For You and used the coordinating die to cut it out. After it was cut out, I thought it would be fun to turn it into a shaker. To do that, I chose a circle die and cut out the face. Then I die cut another full image from acetate and glued it to the back. I stamped and colored just the face on a second image and cut that out too. To assemble it all, I added foam strips and squares to the back of the acetate layer, added some sprinkles and sealed it up with the second die cut image.

Next, I die cut the pillow box from teal cardstock and inked it up with the Heartburst stencils. I added adhesive tape and sealed the box up before tying twine around it and adding the shaker sucker with foam squares.

Pink & Main – Happy New Year

Hello and welcome everyone! I’m over on the Pink & Main blog today sharing one more fun card and I couldn’t resist pulling out the gorgeous New Year sets one more time before the big day is here.

I used a couple of paper pads to “cheat” really awesome effects today. First, I stamped and heat embossed the disco ball from Party Time on one of the papers from the Holographic Set 1 paper pad. The way it shines is the light is so cool, just like a disco ball! Then, instead of getting out my inks for a background, I chose one of my very favorite sheets from the Inked Oasis paper pad. Then I stamped and heat embossed “Happy New Year” in pink champagne embossing powder! So stunning!

I also stamped the girl from Party Time and colored her with copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut her out and added foam squares to attach her to the heat embossed panel. I did the same with the disco ball. But when I was going to put my card together, I wanted a little something else. So I took an A2 piece of white cardstock and embossed it using the Roundabout embossing folder.

I glued that to a white card base and popped my scene panel up with foam tape. Isn’t this just so much fun!?! I love the colors and all the sparkle and shine. Perfect for a new year celebration!

For finishing touches, I added Touch of Gloss to the girl’s bows and white gel pen highlights to her dress and boots. She’s totally ready to ring in the New Year! Last of all, I added a scattering of Snow Day glitter enamel dots and my card is finished!

Newton’s Nook – Meowy Christmas

Meowy Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day full of all the people and things you love! I have a fun treat bag to share with you that I made for my daughter.

I realized a few days before Christmas that I had a gift card for her but nothing to put it in. Well, I definitely had to remedy that, so I dug through my mental catalog and thought it would be fun to made this Lawn Fawn tote bag and decorate it.

I started with the Newton’s Nook Canine Christmas paper pad so cut the bag and assembled it with EZ tear tape. Then, to decorate it I chose this sweet kitty from Newton’s Nook Christmas Kittens stamp set. I colored it with copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I used a little liquid glue to add the holly to his hat and foam squares to attach him to the bag.

Next, I cut banners from the Newton’s Nook Frames & Flags die set from black and white cardstock. I heat embossed a sentiment on one and glued them together, then to the box. Isn’t this so cute!?! For finishing touches, I added Touch of Gloss to the kitten’s nose and holly berries. Then I added black glaze pen to his eyes and set the bag aside to dry.

I didn’t want the “to” to be bold and distract from the kitty so I cut a small circle using the same paper pad and Newton’s Nook Circle Frames dies. Then I cut an “M” from black cardstock using the Newton’s Nook Essential Alphabet dies and glued it on. I used some baker’s twine from my stash to tie it on the back side. We all have different initials in our house so it was easy to leave just the “M” to tell who the gift is for.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! This sweet kitty just makes me smile!

Pink & Main – Love You S’more

Hello everyone! It’s been a bit since I’ve been on here. Today I’m over on the Pink & Main blog switching gears from Christmas to more of a Valentine feel using one of the new stamps from the December release – Hello Winter. It’s got another round of those adorable s’mores snowmen doing adorable things with punny and cute sentiments to go with them all.

As soon as I saw the adorable “couldn’t love you s’more” sentiment I just had to pair it with this guy reaching out for a hug. It also led me directly to my awesome heart cover dies from last year that I’m obsessed with. I decided it would be fun to make a glitter shaker card so let’s do it!

I started by ink blending a white panel with distress oxide ink in spun sugar and festive berries. I spritzed it with water and let it dry. Then I die cut the Heart Spotlight cover die from white cardstock. I lined it with EZ Tear Tape and added acetate to the back. Then I carefully lined the edges and some of the rays with foam strips. Adding strips to the rays adds stability but also makes it like a maze for the glitter to move around so it doesn’t all stay in the same place when it’s shaking.

I used my Magic Anti-static brush to reduce static on the inked panel and also the acetate before sprinkling some raspberry super fine glitter on the acetate side. This way I know the glitter is between the foam strips and doesn’t impede them adhering to the cardstock. I removed the backing paper and added the inked panel to seal it all up.

I stamped and colored my s’more guy with copic markers before die cutting him with the coordinating die, along with those cute hearts floating up. I added foam squares to the back of everything and popped it in place over the large heart.

Next, I inked a scrap of cardstock with more festive berries distress oxide ink and heat embossed the sentiment in white. I used a layered circle die to cut it out and popped it up too.

For finishing touches, I added white gel pen dots to the scarf for texture and Touch of Gloss to the buttons, nose, cheeks are hearts. This way we have shimmer from the glitter shaker and shine from the cute snowman s’more! Best of both worlds together.

I love that this fun stamp set gets you through so many winter holidays and occasions, and them some! It’s so good!

Pink & Main – Snow Kind of You

Hello everyone! I’m over on the Pink & Main blog today with a sneak peek of the December release and some inspiration using the Stamp and Die of the Month – Snow One Like You. How sweet are these little penguins having a snow ball fight?!? I totally adore them!

I started off by playing with the upcoming Snowflake embossing folder. I inked up one side with my Embossing & Watermark ink pad, then I ran it through the die cut machine with white cardstock. Then I sprinkled on some new denim embossing powder. This new deep blue is so gorgeous! I heated that up and set the panel aside. Next, I grabbed a scrap of white cardstock and smeared my embossing ink across the long edge and covered it with more denim embossing powder.

But wait! I wasn’t done playing with some of the new colors of embossing powder coming your way so I stamped some snowflakes from the stamp set and embossed them with chameleon. It totally changes color and is so gorgeous! I used the coordinating dies to cut those out and set them aside too.

Finally, I stamped two of the penguins from Snow One Like You and colored them with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and started arranging my mini scenes. That’s when I thought it would be fun to use sentiment strips as my ground for each one. So I stamped and heat embossed those and used my favorite strip dies from the Sunny Greeting die set to cut them out.

I adhered a strip of the embossing scrap to the edge of my note card. Then I trimmed the snowflakes down to 4×5.5 inches and popped them up with foam tape. I also added foam squares to the snowflakes, images and sentiment strips before adhering them to the card front too.

I kept the finishing touches simple because there is so much sparkle in the embossing powder. I added Touch of Gloss to the penguin beaks and this guy’s feet. Then I also came in and added some to the edges of their snowballs and hills.

I like to have winter themed thank you cards on hand for gifts during the holidays so I’m really happy to have such a variety of fabulous sentiments in this stamp set. The images are so adorable and fun to color too!

Newton’s Nook – Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop

Hey crafty friends! It’s time, once again, for the Newton’s Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Hop. I hope you have enjoyed inspiration from guest designers on the Newton’s Nook blog all week. Now, today we come together with a bundle of holiday inspiration and a hop with prizes up for grabs!

For my card, I started by stamping and coloring the adorable Dairy Christmas images, plus a couple of extra holly bits. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and set them aside to start cutting all the layers to my slimline scene.

I started with the main die in the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set, cutting it from blue sparkle and white cardstock. Then I used one of the land borders dies to cut my different snow drifts. I inked up the edges with a light teal ink to help define one from the other.

After layering things together I wanted to fill my scene a little more so I cut some trees from the Forest Scene Builder dies, plus a bird, and the fence die too. I used copics to add depth and dimension to them all and started layering things together.

I used liquid glue for all my layers but popped my critters up with foam tape. Once I got to this point, I decided to add my sentiment to the bottom of the scene instead of the sky. I thought it fit better but didn’t really want the bold of black ink so I used gray to soften it a bit. Then I glued my holly bits in place to decorate things a little more

With the slimline panel all put together, I popped it up on a 3.5×8.5 inch piece of brown cardstock and adhered that to a slimline card base.

For finishing touches, I added white gel pen highlights to a few areas and black glaze pen to the critter’s eyes. I added glossy accents to the holly berries and tree on the cow’s blanket. Aren’t they soooooo cute?!? I love this pile!
