Pink & Main – Punny Trio

Happy Friday everyone! I’m over on the Pink & Main blog squeezing in one more Valentine card share before the big day! I love Valentine crafting and tend to over do it most years. But it’s all so cute and so fun!!! I just can’t help myself.

Today I have images from Take the Cake and One Smart Cookie. I love how these sets work together! I chose kind of a theme between the images, stamped them out and colored them with my copic markers. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Next, I stamped and heat embossed the coordinating sentiment for each image pair in white on black cardstock. I cut them all out with Large Sentiment Strip dies and adhered the feet of the images to the top of each strip.

Then I cut the Polka Hearts cover die from a textured teal card stock in my stash and inked up the edge with a darker teal ink for depth. Then I cut a piece of white glitter paper just a smidge smaller so they were easy to layer together. I used EZ Squeeze liquid glue to adhere them together and to a card base. (Tip: I find liquid glue works best with glitter paper and inked panels.)

Last, I added foam squares to all my images and popped them on the front of my card. Then I came in with white gel pen accents on all of them for some added texture and interest.

Finally I added glossy accents to all of those adorable hearts for some shine to go with our glittery background.

Isn’t this just so much fun! These images and sentiments are absolutely perfect to use singly but can be so fun to stack together for an added message too!

Miss Ink Stamps – How’s It Goating?

Happy Thursday friends!!! I’m so happy you’re here today. I have a very punny and adorable Miss Ink Stamps card to share with you today. I hope you like it!

For today’s card, I am using one of the Punny Farm Goats from Miss Ink Stamps. I started by stamping and coloring him and his envelope with my copic markers. I used the scan-n-cut to cut the images out today. Then I used my craft knife to cut his mouth open so I could slide the envelope inside. I used a little liquid glue and washi tape on the back side to hold it in place.

My background hearts are distress oxide ink blended on an A2 panel with abandoned coral, tattered rose and dried apricot. They are spritzed with water and flicked with gold watercolor. Then I actually die cut the A2 panel with the Mama Elephant Heart Grid Cover die. I used the frame on a card I’ll share very soon but I couldn’t just toss the leftover hearts. They were too pretty! I also die cut the Mama Elephant Big Scripty Hello from white cardstock 3 times and gold glitter once. I adhered the white ones with liquid glue and then added the gold the same way but offset a little to the right.

To assemble my card, I cut a light teal piece of textured cardstock to 4×5.25 inches and popped it up on a white card base. Then I popped the hearts up with foam squares and glued the hello directly to those with liquid glue. I added the goat with foam squares so he layed nice against the layered die cut sentiment. Last, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment on vellum and cut it out with a Pink & Main Large Sentiment Strip before carefully hiding adhesive behind the letters to adhere it down.

For finishing touches, I added black glaze pen to the goat’s eyes and white gel pen highlights to him too. Then I finished things off with a little dab of unicorn Stickles to the heart on the envelope.

Voila! This adorable card is complete and ready to make someone smile!

Lawn Fawn – Tiny Gift Box Add-on Fun

Happy Wednesday friends! Today I have a card (although I actually made 2 of the same one) and a couple of treat boxes to share with you. I absolutely love the Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box die set and all of the critter add-ons they have for it. Sometimes I’m not in the mood to color and playing with all die cut creations is so much fun!

I am only missing a few of the add-ons for this die set and the ladybug was one of them…until last week! Yippee!!! So naturally I had to create with it right away and thought it would be fun to make a Valentine creation. So I cut the pieces to create a one-dimensional ladybug, not a box and adhered them all together. Tip: I don’t have a cardstock that I like for skin tone so I cut that piece from white and colored it with E50 and E51 copic markers instead.

For my background, I used the Lots of Hearts stencil on an A2 size white panel and inked one layer up with ballet slippers ink and the other with chili pepper ink. Then I ran the panel through my die cutter with the Simple Stripes Portrait die. It just gives the background added texture and interest. After cutting it out, I used liquid glue to adhere it to a white card base.

Next, I cut the dimensional banner from the Fancy Wavy Banners die set from black cardstock and heat embossed a sentiment from Wavy Sayings in white. I folded and adhered the banner and added foam squares to the back before adding it to the bottom center of my card front. Then I used a large action wobbler to adhere my lady bug above that so it flies! It’s SO CUTE!!!

Since these cards are going to two very special recipients, I took a moment to stamp extra fun things inside the card too. I used images from Hey Lady, another Wavy Sayings sentiment and finished it off with a second sentiment from the Scent With Love Add-On stamp set. I colored the ladybugs really quick, signed these cuties from my family and then went in the mail today!

Here’s a little video of the ladybug on the front in action.

However, after playing with the ladybug I had the itch to make more. Another fun thing I like to do with these dies is create themed boxes for holidays and special occasions…like Valentine’s Day!

So I pulled out the dies and created a couple of fun boxes while I was at it. I created a pink duck and a red skunk! Aren’t they so fun in non-traditional colors? I think so! I’m excited to add a little treat and surprise some people next Monday!

Miss Ink Stamps – Nuts About You

Thanks for stopping by today. I’m over on the Miss Ink Stamps blog with this adorable squirrel professing his nutty love just in time for Valentine’s Day. I layered a bundle of stencils to create the awesome background and couldn’t resist inking up my favorite squirrel and his heart shaped wood slice too!

I started by stamping images from Oh, Nuts! and Have Heart and colored them with my copic markers. Then I cut them out with my scissors and used a combination of liquid glue and foam squares to arrange my little scene. I set that all aside and switch gears to get messy for my background.

First I taped an A2 size piece of white cardstock to the back of the Ins & Outs Marquis layer with the window opening. I inked it up with kitsch flamingo distress oxide and then added the Scene Builder Clouds stencil and went over it with picked raspberry distress oxide lightly for some clouds. Then I slid the clouds stencil to match the swirls up with my cloud edges and added that detail with a heavier hand.

Now, to get messy I wiped off the edge of the marquis window stencil and layered the Starry Night stencil over the top and spread iridescent glitz glitter gel through that. I removed all of the stencils and let the glitz gel dry for a bit before adding the marquis frame layer and spreading the same glitz gel through that.

Once everything was completely dry I assembled my card. I decided to have a melon colored base layer that goes with the dark details in the clouds. I trimmed the stenciled panel down to 4×5.25 inches and popped it up with foam tape. Then I added my images with foam tape as well. Last, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment on black cardstock, cut it out with a banner die and popped it up too.

For finishing touches I added white gel pen highlights to the images, black glaze pen to the squirrel’s eyes and once it was dry came back in with a white gel pen highlight there too.

Welcome to a fresh new week everyone! I’m stopping by today to share that a couple of weeks ago I posted my first YouTube video…it was pretty horrible but I had to kick myself to stop making excuses and just try it.

From that I had a fantastic friend reach out and offer to help me. So today I’m sharing that I posted a second video of this adorable Bee Yourself card.

I know I still have a lot to learn but I would love it if you’d head over and check the video out when you get a chance.

My goal is to have weekly videos but I don’t want to promise anything yet. Haha. Feel free to leave comments if there is anything that you would like to see a video of versus regular blog posts or that you’ve seen me create before but would like the video version. I’m ready to try new things.

I would also really love to know if you’d like me to still write up the usual blog post when I share a video or not. I know everyone has different preferences so please let me know in the comments.

Newton’s Nook – Sweet Treats Blog Hop

The Newton’s Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentine’s Day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

I have 2 fun tags to share with you today – a coffee version and a hot cocoa version – to customize for your recipient.

To create my tags, I started by cutting four pink tags from the Fancy Edges Tag die set. Then I cut two more of the top half from white cardstock. I inked up two of the pink ones with the Petite Hearts stencil and some pink dye ink with a blending brush.

For the coffee tag, I stamped the sentiment from Love Cafe on the white tag topper portion, then lined up the scallop border and ran it through the die cutter. I also stamped the coffee cup image in the set and some hearts from Cup of Cocoa (which we’ll use on the next tag as well) and colored everything with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out and assembled my layers, popping up the images with foam squares.

For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to all of the hearts on the tag and the word “coffee” as well. Then I threaded pink baker’s twine through the hole and tied it to a bag of K-cups.

Switching gears to the hot cocoa tag, we need to do some simple masking. I placed the Love Cafe sentiment in my MISTI, put a sticky note over the word “coffee” and inked it up. I removed the sticky note and stamped the inked up portion of the sentiment on the tag topper. Then, I took the “It’s a HOT chocolate kind of day!” sentiment from Cup of Cocoa and did the same thing to mask off portions to only stamp “HOT chocolate” on the bottom of my tag.

I stamped mugs from Cup of Cocoa and Time for Coffee and colored them with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies for each set to cut them out and assembled my tag the same as the first one.

For finishing touches on this tag I added glossy accents to the hearts and dots on the mug. Then I also added unicorn Stickles to the whipped cream and marshmallows for a little sparkle to with with the shine.

I hope you enjoyed these fun tags and found some inspiration to create something wonderful to share with someone.

Miss Ink Stamps – Hip Hippo Hooray

Happy Thursday everyone! Thank you for stopping by. Today I have an adorable hippo card using stamps and a bunch of stencils layered for a cool background from Miss Ink Stamps.

I knew the general design I wanted to create so today I jumped straight in with my background panel. I chose a fun purple cardstock from my stash and sprayed the Fine Lines stencil with pixie spray. With delicate stencils like this pixie spray is your best friend, I promise! After letting it sit for a few minutes I pressed the stencil to my panel and inked up with a purple ink for that great tone-on-tone stripe! I love it! Next I used the Hand Drawn Hearts stencil with white pigment ink over the stripes. Then, last but not least, I used the Tiny Snowfall stencil and spread lovely lavender glitz glitter gel from Thermoweb through it.

I set that panel aside to dry and cleaned up my mess. Then I chose images from Hippo Hooray, stamped and colored them with my copics. I used the scan-n-cut to cut them out. For my scene, I die cut a circle with the Trinity Stamps embossed edge circle stack from teal cardstock. I inked up the bottom portion with a blending brush and brown dye ink, then I went around the rest of the edge with teal ink for a little depth.

I adhered the seaweed and rocks with liquid glue and popped all the critters up with foam squares. Then I popped the circle up on the stenciled panel with foam tape and adhered the whole thing to a white card base. Last, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment on black cardstock and die cut it with a Pink & Main large sentiment strip die. I popped the sentiment up with foam squares and trimmed off the edge.

For finishing touches today I just added loads of fun white gel pen highlights to all the images. Then I added black glaze pen to the critter eyes and after it dried put a tiny white highlight back in. This really makes the eyes come to life. I love it!

Do you layer your stencils over top of each other? It’s a newer technique for me but I just love it every time I play with a new combo!

Thermoweb – Gift Tags with Flocking

Hey crafty friends! I’m over on the Thermoweb blog today sharing a couple of fun gift tags featuring Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets and a new way to use your slimline toner sheets!

The panel I used for my flocking was perfect to die cut 2 of these Reverse Confetti tags out of so I just ran with it and made a set of fun tags for the next time I have gifts to give.

I absolutely LOVE that I was able to create these fun rosettes with the slimline toner card fronts too! Each card front will give you 4 rosettes!!! Such a fun addition to the design.

Be sure to head over to the Thermoweb blog for all the details and a list of products I used to create these awesome tags!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Life Happens, Coffee Helps

Hello there! It’s time for Tuesday Tea over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers today. I recently indulged in the overstock sale at Scrapbookpal.com and snagged a few things I had been resisting prior to now. When my order came in I just had to cut this cool MFT Stamps Color Block die immediately and play with it. It’s super fun to intertwine together, stack and layer.

After I cut it out in a rainbow of cardstock and played with it for a while, I came up with this cool background and thought I simple focal image would be perfect to turn it in to a card. When I was moving things around this weekend I rediscovered this awesome couple of stamp sets from Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Stamps – I Like Big Cups and Coffee Talk 2. The immediately came to mind when I was wanting an awesome image for my card.

I stamped the mug, then the sentiment inside, colored it with my copics and fussy cut it out. I always go around the edge with a black marker when I fussy cut things. It gives the image a much more finished look.

I popped the coffee mug up with foam squares and went digging in my stash for embellishments to dress things up a bit. Today I decided to use this awesome rainbow of bubbles from Trinity Stamps called Dewdrops. They are fantastic and add so much to the design today!

Super simple card today but the rainbow makes me smile and I just love both of those stamp sets I used too!
