Newton’s Nook – July Release Reveals Day 1

Hello friends! I’m excited that we’re back for another full week of release reveals for Newton’s Nook with an Instagram Hop and release available for purchase on Friday! Let’s see what we have today, shall we?

Birthday Time paper pad, Happy Birthday dies, Card Layout 3 die, Card Layout 4 die

I’m using all of these goodies sprinkled throughout the release but today I have a fun card to share with you using the Card Layout 3 die and some older but equally as fun products!

For this card I cut the layout die from white cardstock and went to town on the frame and inserts with distress oxide inks and sprays, separately so that I could get different browns for each part.

After lots of sprinkling and spraying, I let the pieces dry and then glued them to a white card front. Then I finished things off with the Hug in a Mug sentiment cut 3 times and glued together for dimension and a few Silhouette Coffee Mugs popped up with foam squares.

I couldn’t resist a little stardust Stickles on the mug heart to sparkle things up a bit but I wanted to make sure you could really see the awesome design of the background die.

Doodlebugs – Heading Back to the Beach

Happy Monday everyone! Back this week to playing with all things beach! Have you noticed how much amazing beach-themed product has been released this year? It’s over the top and I’m here for it! Today I took the time to play with Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh beach releases from June. Still loving it all!

This card starting with the Waffle Flower Lighthouse and Coastline die sets. I love that the Coastline set comes with a simple coloring stencil and the lighthouse dies were so easy to put together! I used some copic markers on the lighthouse for dimension. Plus I added splatter to my sandy beach panel from the coastline.

Moving on to the background panel, I chose the Pretty Pink Posh Seashell background stencil and Lawn Fawn forget me not ink. Then I spritzed it with Solar Spray for shimmery texture.

I used liquid glue to adhere the lighthouse to the rock and then glued that whole scene to my background panel. I adhered that to a card base and moved on to choose my spattering of sentiment strips.

The Pretty Pink Posh sentiment strip dies and stamp series are literally one of the best investments I’ve ever made. They’re available for every occasion and the perfect little addition to almost any design. I chose three from the Summer stamp set and cut them out with the smallest strip die, then adhered them with liquid glue too.

This might be the flattest card I’ve ever created. But it works so well and I love it!

Spellbinders – Merry Moments Card

Happy weekend everyone! I’m stopping in with an elegant but simple Christmas card today featuring and focusing on the Christmas Cameos 3D embossing folder from the Spellbinders Merry Moments release that happened on Thursday.

For today’s card, I embossed a piece of red cardstock and then lightly drug my white pigment ink pad across the embossing to make it pop. It’s simple and quick to do, just use a light hand and go over multiple times if you need to. Then I trimmed the panel down to 4×5.25 inches and popped it up on a white card base.

Then I pulled out two die sets from Christmas releases last year to add a sentiment and floral decor to my pretty embossed panel. Handmade Sentiments is a great sentiment banner die set for the holidays and Delivering Joy is spectacular for it’s large sleigh image but all the supporting decorations are great to use with it and on their own like I did here with the foliage.

I used liquid glue to adhere the pieces together and then popped them up on the card front with foam squares after everything was dry enough to move.

Be sure to check out all the new Christmas in July joy that’s happening at Spellbinders!

Spellbinders – Country Christmas Release Day

Welcome back everyone! I’m back today with a card featuring goodies from a couple of Spellbinders Christmas in July releases happening today. This first card features sweet scene dies from the Country Christmas Collection by Annie Willis and an embossing folder from the Merry Moments Collection.

I spent some relaxing time die cutting all the elements for my Country Snowman, using ink blending and a little copic marker coloring for shading and texture in places. Reverse tweezers and liquid glue are always my friend when creating with dies like these.

Once I had my scene elements created, glued and drying, I ink blended a panel with distress oxide inks and ran it through the die cutter with the Christmas Cameos 3D embossing folder. I glued that to a card base and started assembling the rest of my card.

After adding the Country Snowman elements with foam squares I pulled out my favorite sentiment banners from last year to finish things off. The white layer on the sentiment banner helps the sentiment pop and hides the foam behind it but this time I offset it for a little added interest.

Are you Christmas crafting yet?

Newton’s Nook – All Die Cut Cards, When It’s too Hot to Color

Hello everyone! I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog today with a fun, book-themed card that’s all die cuts with one stamped sentiment. I recognize that it’s summer and hot and not everyone has air conditioning. If you color with materials like copic markers that are pressurized, it makes it difficult to accomplish anything when the temperatures rise.

I’m in that boat right now as our air conditioner is out so I pulled out some fun die cuts to play around with and love how it turned out.

The books I used are from the Bookmark II die set and the flowers are from the Daisies die set. I cut from colored cardstock and used copics to add little accents to the book spines, just coloring the inserts a shade or two darker so they stood out.

I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 3.5×4.75 and ink blended a section a couple inches up from the bottom. Then I glued a piece of rose gold foil cardstock to the seam and used the same apricot ink to stamp my sentiment that I ink blended with.

I used liquid glue to adhere all the die cut elements and finished the design off with some glossy accents on the flower centers. Then I popped the panel up on a white card base with foam tape and my card is all finished.

Doodlebugs – Spooky Wishes

Hey friends! I interrupt your regularly scheduled summer fun for some spooky wishes featuring the Mama Elephant Halloween awesomeness that recently released! If you’ve been here for just a minute, you know Halloween is my favorite and any excuse to create for it has me ALL IN!

I had a general idea that I wanted to create a big sentiment with the adorable mummies and witches around and in the letters somehow. So I started with my background to set the tone and choose my color palette…perfect summerween colors! I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Stars stencil set on pink cardstock to start off with. I used Lawn Fawn carrot and jet black inks.

Next, I adhered white cardstock to craft foam and covered the back with adhesive sheet. Then I die cut my sentiment using the Lawn Fawn Henry’s ABCs die set. This gave instant dimension with less work than cutting each letter 4 times and gluing them together. After arranging my letters together I chose a Spellbinders Emerald Cut Label die to cut from vellum as a backdrop.

Now that I had a general placement and size of open space, I chose a couple of mummies and a witch from the new Mama Elephant sets – Mummified and Bewitched. I stamped, colored and die cut them, then adhered each mummy with foam squares and the witch with liquid glue.

Hiding adhesive behind the letters and images, I adhered the vellum panel with tape runner to the stenciled background. Next, I used liquid glue to adhere the whole thing to a card base.

For finishing touches I added orange glitter brush pen to the sentiment and white gel pen highlights to the images.

On a scale from 1 to spooky, how much do you love crafting for Halloween?

Doodlebugs – Seashells Everywhere

Welcome everyone! I’m not over the beach theme and I found a new stencil set to play with on top of it! Mix it up Monday for the Doodlebugs blog brings us beautiful stenciling for quick coloring and some relaxing seashell coloring too. It was a great crafting session!

I started by die cutting and ink blending the new Waffle Flower Seashell Frame die and stencil combo. It’s so easy to use and is going to be so fun to mix and match different color combos on!

Next, I chose a handful of seashells from the new Pretty Pink Posh Seashells stamp set. I colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. I arranged them how I wanted and used liquid glue to adhere them together. Then I chose a sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Sentiment Strips | Summer set and cut it out with the Sentiment Strip dies, along with a scalloped shadow too.

For my background panel, I chose saltwater taffy Distress Spritz spray for shimmer and light color. I think it goes so well with everything else going on but doesn’t distract from the images at all. After it dried, I adhered it to a card base with liquid glue and attached the frame, images and sentiment strip with foam squares.

I’m having so much fun creating with all of these new ocean themed goodies that have just released! Do you enjoy beach and ocean crafting? It makes me want to put my toes in the sand for sure!

Doodlebugs – Beach Vibes

Hey friends! I’m in full beach mode these days, loving all the new beach themed goodies coming out and having fun pairing them with some favorites I didn’t get enough of from previous years!

For today’s card, I got inky and splattery and loved every moment of it! I started by playing around with the Waffle Flower Beach Tote. I cut all the pieces, stamped my towel stripes and heat embossed my sentiment. Then I used liquid glue to adhere it all together.

To create my beach scene, I cut a couple pieces of kraft cardstock using the Lawn Fawn hillside borders and splattered them with brown ink and white paint for that sandy look. Then I cut a piece of cardstock with the Pretty Pink Posh Pierced Scallops cover die and splattered it with distress oxide spray and white paint.

When everything was dry, I glued the back layer of sand to the sky panel and then popped the beach tote up with foam tape. Next, I added the front layer of sand with a combo of liquid glue and foam squares.

Finally, I glued the whole thing to a card base and finished the design off with glossy accents on the sunglass lenses.

Now, who’s ready for a trip to the beach? ME!!!

Miss Ink Stamps – Boho Thanks

Hi friends! It’s time for some Miss Ink Stamps inspiration again. Following suite with my stencil theme these days I pulled out an old favorite to play with and added a custom simple sentiment – all in a fabulous boho theme.

The stencils used for the background is the Artsy Abstracts stencil set. It has 4 stencils in the set to mix and match however you like. I used all dye inks and blending brushes on a piece of cream cardstock. Then I splattered a little water on the panel and blotted it dry.

Next I used double-sided adhesive sheets to adhere brown cardstock to craft foam and die cut that with the Modern Typeset dies to create a thanks sentiment. I used a ruler to keep my letters straight.

And last, I popped the panel up with foam tape on a white card base and glued a small scattering of matte gold sequin discs on the design.

I love that these stencils are so fun to play with in any color combo you’re vibing for the day and there is no wrong way to combine them!

Doodlebugs – Citrus Stenciling All the Ways

Hey friends! It’s Mix it up Monday on the Doodlebugs blog today! I’m sharing some really fun stenciling in a bunch of color combos because who doesn’t love a good citrus!

I was really in the mood to play with stencils a little bit ago so I went digging through all my layering stencils, finally landing on this fun Pretty Pink Posh Citrus stencil set. I inked it up with the orange combo because it seemed immediately logical but right after that I thought, I want to make lemons and limes and, what about grapefruit too!?! So I did.

The final layer is the juice splatter so I spread glossy gel through it and sprinkled those with super fine glitter for sparkle. While those were drying I cut some Lawn Fawn scripty sentiments from white cardstock – 3 layers for each card – and glued them together with liquid glue. But I didn’t like the white sentiment so I cut another layer for each card and inked it with the same inks I used on the stenciling.

Once the panels were dry, I trimmed the edge off and lined the back with foam tape. Then I inked the edge of my card base to match each panel and adhered them together. Last, I glued my sentiments in the center and suddenly have an adorable set of 4 cards done!

Pretty Pink Posh Citrus
Lawn Fawn Scripty Congrats die
Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello die
Lawn Fawn inks – celery stick, jalapeno, lemonade, sunflower, carrot, peach fuzz, bubblegum
