Twiddler’s Nook Spooktacular Hop

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I’m super excited for our final Spooktacular Hop of the year! I created a fun shaker card to share with you but remember to head to Instagram and comment on the hop posts for entries to win a gift code to the Twiddler’s Nook shop!

My most amazing crafty friend gifted me these sweet Picket Fence Studio ghosts and I just had to include them in our final hop. So I chose a few to stamp and color, then also stamped a sentiment before die cutting it all.

I used the Spellbinders banner punch to create a trio of banners, glued them together and wrapped the top with twine. Then I added my sentiment and images with foam squares and set that aside to create my shaker panel.

For that I ink blended over the Pretty Pink Posh Halloween Words stencil using Lawn Fawn inks – jalapeno, ballet slippers and carrot. I removed the stencil and lightly went over the panel with the same colors. After trimming it down to 4×5.25 inches I added it to a Waffle Flower shaker pouch.

I used a few different embellishments for my shaker bits today to create the perfect color combo mix – hearts from Spring Fling, Luscious Lime stars and orange Seed Beads. The variety of materials really helps them all move around when you shake it and the seed beads make an extra cool sound too.

After everything was adhered together on a white card base I added glossy accents and stardust Stickles to my ghosts for the finishing touches.

Picket Fence Studios – Animal Crackers Rooting For You

Hello again! I wanted to share another card I created for the Picket Fence Studios June release featuring their adorable Animal Crackers line. This group of critters are rooting for a speedy recovery and I love it!

I started by stamping the image and taking my time coloring all of these cuties with my copic markers. Then I cut it out and set it aside.

For my background panel, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4×5.25 inches and used my scoring board to emboss lines 1/4″ in and 1/8″ apart all the way around. This gives a subtle frame and great detail to your focal panel. Then I placed the panel in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment, making sure I had room for my image because it’s so big.

I popped the panel up with foam tape and then did the same thing with the image. For finishing touches I added black glaze pen to critter eyes and noses. Then I glued down a scattering of sequins from the new Lake Tahoe embellishment mix.

Picket Fence Studios – Coffee Bar Scene Card

Hi there! I’m back with another card I created using the Picket Fence Studios June release. This time I created a fun scene card making a coffee bar that I’m jealous I can’t sample off of!

I had a vision in mind so I cut all the pieces for my table and coffee goodies. Some from colored cardstock, like the coffee maker, and others from white cardstock so I could color them with copic markers.

Next, I took an A2 white panel and scored it every half inch for texture. I cut a strip of kraft cardstock for the floor and colored it with copic markers for depth. I glued the floor to the scored panel and added a 1/4″ strip over the seam for a baseboard.

I adhered all of my coffee bar pieces with liquid glue. Then I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment on black cardstock, cut it into a rectangle and glued it in place as well.

I love being able to create in different ways. This card was out of my comfort zone but so fun to play with all the little elements, building a scene.

Picket Fence Studios – Release IG Hop

Hey friends! I’m so happy to be joining Picket Fence Studios for their June release! Today we’re having an Instagram hop where there’s a $75 gift certificate to their shop up for grabs! So be sure to head there and hop along to increase your chances of winning.

I’m sharing two sweet rainbow cards for the hop today. A fabulous shaker card and a bonus I created with what I cut to create my shaker window.

I started my card by ink blending an A2 size panel with a rainbow of dye inks randomly all over. Then I spritzed it with water and blotted it dry. I love shine and shimmer so next I flicked pearl watercolor on the panel too.

I die cut the rainbow from the panel, saving those pieces for later, and then stamped my sentiment along the bottom. Next, I die cut the elephants from white cardstock and popped them up under the center of the rainbow with foam tape.

To turn this into a shaker card, I just added acetate to the back of the panel and lined it with foam tape. I sprinkled shaker bits inside and sealed it up with a piece of white cardstock. Then I glued the panel to a card base and it’s all finished.

To create my bonus card, I cut the rainbow shadow from white cardstock twice. I scored the top of one about 1/2 inch down and glued the two together at that flap only. This created my card base. Then I glued to rainbow pieces from my die to cut in place with liquid glue.

While that was drying with an acrylic block on top, I cut a banner and heat embossed my sentiment on it. I glued that across the center and finished things off with some pretty iridescent sequins.
