Pink & Main | Joy Clair Collaboration Blog Hop

I am super excited to be apart of the Pink & Main | Joy Clair collaboration blog hop today! There is so much inspiration from both teams and prizes to be won from both companies too! I have two fun cards to share with you so let’s get started!

I had so much fun playing with products from both companies that I couldn’t stop at one card, I had to make two with so many other ideas still in my head. Let’s get started with the super fun mermaid card!

I inked up a panel with mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass distress oxide inks and used the Pink & Main Waves dies to cut 2 sets of waves from the one panel. I spritzed the waves with water, flicked watered down ink on them and then also added some watered down black acrylic paint. Then, on another panel, I took the Pink & Main Clouds stencil and inked it up with a light yellow ink. I repeated the same idea on this panel with the yellow ink and black paint.

Next, I stamped and colored the mermaid tail image from the Joy Clair Mermaid at Heart stamp set. I used my scan-n-cut to cut it out and started arranging my scene. Once I had an idea, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set in black. At this point I thought it would be nice to have a little frame around my scene so I trimmed everything down to 4×5.25. Then, I adhered the back waves with EZ Squeeze liquid glue to the cloud panel, then glued the mermaid tail to the back of the other waves and added foam tape to the back of the whole thing. I removed the backing paper and placed it down.

I trimmed a black panel to 4 1/8×5 3/8 and used Pink & Main EZ Squeeze glue to add my scene panel to it. I added foam tape the back of the black and popped it on a white card base. At this point I thought my card could use some extra, because I really like extra. 😉 So I pulled out the Summer Wreath Decor dies and cut a few shells, a sun and a star and used my copics to color the pieces. Then I popped the sun up with foam and used liquid glue to add the seashells and star.

For finishing touches on this card, I added unicorn Stickles to the mermaid tail, sun and seashells. Then I added a scattering of Pink & Main Essential Pearls to the bottom to complete the design.

Now, let’s move on to the floral card featuring the Joy Clair stamp set called Succulent Frame.

I started this card by stamping the images in the set and coloring them all with my copic markers. Then I used the scan-n-cut to cut them all out and arranged them together. I used liquid glue to adhere them in place and switched gears to my background.

For that, I inked up a panel with antique linen distress oxide ink and splattered it with water. Then I used a brayer roller to add dried marigold distress oxide to the inside of my Pink & Main Wide Stripes embossing folder and ran it through my die cut machine. Then I splattered the panel with watered down dried marigold ink and black acrylic paint. Once that panel was dry, I used the largest Pink & Main A2 Rectangle Stackable die to cut it out. I stepped it down 2 sizes and die cut a thin frame using the same rectangle die set and adhered it with liquid glue.

Moving back to my image panel, I pulled out the Pink & Main wreath base 2 dies and cut the thanks sentiment 4 times from white cardstock and once from the rose gold color in the metallics glitter paper pack. I used the EZ Squeeze liquid glue to adhere the layers together. Then I took a sentiment from the Succulent Frame set and masked off everything except the word friend that I stamped and heat embossed in white. I used a Pink & Main Large Sentiment Strip die to cut it out and adhered it to the bottom of my stacked word die cuts. Next, I used liquid glue to add this to the Succulent Frame images.

Finally, I added foam squares to the back of the images and popped them in place in the center of my card. For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to the red berry images around the frame and also a scattering of the new Pink & Main Sparkle Gems.

  3. I’m not sure why my original post didn’t show up; however, I love the cards that you created! I love the playfulness of the mermaid card. I really like the heat embossed sentiment in black. Your second card made with the succulent wreath is just stunning. I appreciate the scan-n-cut technique used with the embossing folders and ink brayer techniques to give this card added detail, dimension and depth. Thank you for sharing!
