Newton’s Nook – Thermoweb Collab | Time to Celebrate

Happy Monday everyone! This week Newton’s Nook and Thermoweb are collaborating together for amazing inspiration using products from both companies! Today I have a very sweet celebration card to share with you.

I started today’s card with my background panel and the Cupcakes layering stencil. I started by inking the layer with the cupcake papers and a few toppers. I used teal for the wrappers and brown for the few frosting bits. Next, I swapped for the cupcake frosting layer and inked it in a gradient from top left to bottom right – red/pink down to yellow. Last, I added my sprinkles and cherries layer and spread red Thermoweb Glitz Glitter Gel through it. Then, I set the panel aside to dry and cleaned up my area and stencil.

Next, I brought out the Newton’s Cupcake set and stamped my images. I colored them with copic markers to resemble the inking on the stenciled panel and used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

Once they were cut out, I turned on my laminator to heat up. I used the Deco Foil adhesive pen to add polka dots to the cupcake wrapper and cut a piece of red Deco Foil transfer sheet. With the laminator heated up and the pen dry, I layered the foil on top and placed them in a Craft & Carrier sheet and ran it through the laminator. This is such a fun way to customize and detail your images! I love it and the shine of these foiled dots in the light is so cool!

With the stenciled panel dry, I ran it through the die cutter with the largest Frames & Flags die and added my Newton image with foam squares. Next, I chose a sentiment from the Birthday Roundabout stamp set, and heat embossed it on a banner from the Banner Trio die set. I glued the ends down and added it under Newton with foam squares too.

Next, I chose a pattern from the Springtime paper pad, cut it to A2 size and added it to a white card base before popping up the stenciled panel with foam tape on that.

For a little bit of finishing detail, I added glossy accents to the cherry on the cupcake, Newton’s nose and a couple of stripes on the party hat too.

Doesn’t this card just make you want to celebrate? And eat cupcakes? It certainly does for me!
