Miss Ink Stamps – Good Day to be Happy

Welcome everyone! It’s been a very busy week and I’m super excited to share all the things I’ve been creating. For today I have a brilliant card using Miss Ink Stamps Bubbles stamps and dies and a few stencils layered together to create an awesome background!

I started by stamping and coloring some images from Bubbles with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then set them all aside while I got inky. I started by taping my cardstock to the masking layer of the Ins and Outs Marquis stencil. Then I added the Random Dots stencil over the top and inked it with a light teal ink. I removed that and switched it for the Large Random Dots stencil and spread Thermoweb transfer gel blanco through that one. I set the panel aside to dry and cleaned up my mess.

Coming back later on, I heated up my laminator and ran the panel through with pearlescent deco foil transfer sheet and it turned out amazing! After that, I layered the border for the Ins and Outs Marquis over the top and blended a darker teal ink for that. Then I started playing with placement for my images and digging for a sentiment.

I added my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares. Then I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Sunshine and Rainbows, trimmed it into a strip and popped it up with foam squares too.

For finishing touches, I added unicorn Stickles to the bubbles and called it good. There is so much interest in the background that makes those sweet foxes pop, I didn’t think it needed much else.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Thanks a Latte Critter Hugger

Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s time for tea over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers. Today we’re playing with die cuts to create a sweet critter hugger thank you card featuring Lawn Fawn goodies that I’ve been neglecting.

Let’s be real…I need a bundle of thank you cards these days and I also finally ordered the spring critter hugger dies which made me want to play with these cuties in the meantime. Lol! I’m a total problem.

I simply die cut the pieces to make a squirrel critter hugger and colored the edges with E30 copic markers to give it a little depth. I used liquid glue to adhere the pieces and set it aside to dry while I created my background.

For the background, I die cut the landscape polka heart backdrop from white cardstock. I used a blending brush and guava ink to ink up the edges and then splattered some watered down guava ink all over the panel. I layered it over a piece of teal paper from my stash with liquid glue and adhered it to a white card base.

Next, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Thanks a Latte and cut it into a strip. I popped it up with a foam strip and adhered my squirrel in place too.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to the squirrel’s nose and unicorn Stickles to the cheeks and coffee mug. Super fast to put together and absolutely adorable too!

Newton’s Nook – Just Because Knight Owl

Hey friends! I’m back today with version 2 of my simple sketch design featuring another mini stamp set from Newton’s Nook. This Knight Owl stamp set it adorable but I had a hard time finding ways to use it. Then I reminded myself, that you don’t have to use the sentiments included with the image, duh! So I went digging and found this fun “just because” sentiment in the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. How fun is that!?!

For today’s card, I stamped and colored the knight owl image with copic markers and used the coordinating die to cut him out. Then I moved on to inking up my background panels. and die cutting the other elements.

Starting with the background, I inked the edges of a dark blue cardstock panel with chipped sapphire distress oxide ink for a little depth before taping down the cascading stars stencil over the top and spreading transfer gel blanco through it. I cleaned up my mess and set the panel aside to dry. Then I too a scrap strip of white cardstock and inked it up with mowed lawn and forest moss distress oxide ink. I spritzed the panel with water and blotted it dry before cutting it with the largest Frames & Flags die and then again with the grass die in the Land Borders set.

Once the star panel was dry, I heated up my laminator and ran it through with Thermoweb gold glitter deco foil by Unity. I absolutely love the tiny shimmer this foil gives off. It’s gorgeous! Then I cut that panel out with the same die from the Frames & Flags set.

Next, I cut a stitched banner and fence from white cardstock. I stamped my sentiment on the banner and started assembling my card. First, I adhered the fence to the grass with liquid glue. Then I added the banner behind the owl using the grass panel as a guide for width. I added foam tape to the star panel, grass/fence panel and owl/banner. I removed the release paper and adhered them together one layer at a time.

For finishing touches, I added white gel pen accents to my image, black glaze pen to his eyes and glossy accents to his beak.

Isn’t this such a fun card and ready to go for any reason you can come up with to send it! I’m so excited to have another happy mail card in my stash to share.

Jane’s Doodles – You’re So Weird

Hey crafty friends! I’m back with a pair of super fun cards featuring the Weird digital stamp set from Jane’s Doodles. I just love these images and had so much fun getting inky creating scenes for them.

I started by printing out the whole set of images and sentiments from the Weird digital stamp set. I used my copic markes to color them and the scan-n-cut to cut them out. Then I cut 2 of the sentiments out with sentiment banner dies and set it all aside while I made a horrendously awesome inky mess!

For my first card, I inked up 2 strips of white cardstock with distress oxides in various green colors. One was crushed olive and mowed lawn while the other had those colors plus twisted citron for some bright areas. Then I took an A2 panel and inked it with salty ocean and tumbled glass distress oxide. I spritzed this panel with water and blotted it dry. Then I flicked some watered down blueprint sketch on the whole panel for added texture and interest.

I cut the green panels with the Lawn Fawn tropical vines and tropical leaves dies and arranged them on my blue panel. The vines were longer than my panel so I cut them and inserted the smaller sections in different areas to fill in the scene more. Once everything was where I liked it, I used liquid glue to adhere them all down.

Next, I popped up my sentiment and sloth image with foam squares and added a little glossy accents to his nose. To help the eyes pop a little I added black glaze pen to those and my card is all finished.

But we’re not done yet. Let’s get a whole new set of colors out and have some more inky fun!

This time I inked up white cardstock strips with twisted citron and and crushed olive distress oxide inks and spritzed them with water. I flicked watered down mowed lawn distress oxide ink and gold watercolor on those panels too. Once they were dry I die cut them with the Lawn Fawn tropical leaves border die and set them aside.

For my background panel, I inked up seedless preserves and wilted violet distress oxide ink on an A2 panel. I spritzed it with water and flicked more gold watercolor on it too. It seemed a bit brighter than I wanted so I added a little tea dye distress oxide around the edges after the watercolor was dry.

For assembly, I added the purple panel to a card base and glued one strip of leaves to the top. Then I cut a white cardstock strip 1.5 inches wide and popped it up with foam tape. I added a strip of washi tape before popping my image and sentiment banner up with foam tape as well.

For finishing touches on this card I added glossy accents to the sloth’s nose and flower centers. Then I glued down a few red clay hearts for a little extra something. I think they are so sweet and love the touch they add.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and found some inspiration to create something wonderful!

Pink & Main – Just Bee-cause Box Card

Happy Friday my crafty friends! You know what Friday means…another fantastic inspiration day for Pink & Main! Today I’m over on their blog sharing this adorable box card using the mini scenes from the recently release Spring Snow Globe Scenes stamp and die set. I love these images and thought they would layer together great for a fun spring scene in a box card.

I stamped and colored two of the scenes from Spring Snow Globe Scenes and a few of the individual bees too. After I colored everything with my copic markers, I used the coordinating dies to cut it all out.

I die cut all of the elements for my box card using paper from the Happy paper pad for the outside of my box and white cardstock for the supports on the inside to hold my images. Once they were die cut, I used copic markers to color them green to blend in with the bottom of my images.

I used 1/4 inch EZ tear tape to adhere my box together and 1/8 inch EZ tear tape to add all of my images. Then I die cut the decorative stitched panel for the front flap, stamped a sentiment from the set on it and added it with tear tape too. I glued all the flaps down and tied some cute sparkly twine around the whole box before popping that last little bee up with a foam square.

I have been on a huge interactive, 3D card creating kick lately and this one was definitely a favorite! I love this die set and had a blast putting this card together.

Miss Ink Stamps – Pet Sympathy Card

Hello friends. Today I have a bit of a somber card to share with you. It’s one of those things that we have to create and they are horrible to make when you actually need them. So, I try to sprinkle them in here and there when something strikes me and keep a small stash to use when they are needed.

Today I’m using Miss Ink Stamps stencils and a sentiment stamp set to create a pet sympathy card. The stamp set lends to cats or dogs but I did kept mine generic since it’s not for a specific reason.

I started by inking up both layers of the Cloud Hearts stencils in a rainbow fashion. In my mind this was like the reference to animals crossing the rainbow bridge. Once both layers were completed, I removed those stencils and taped down the Big Paws stencil and spread Lawn Fawn fairy dust stencil paste through it for a subtle glittery look of paws over the whole card front.

I set that aside to dry and got the other layers of my card ready. I cut a black piece of cardstock to A2 size and adhered it to a white card base. Then I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Pet Sympathy stamps set on black cardstock and cut it out with a sentiment banner.

After the panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 4×5.25 inches and popped it up with foam tape on the card front. Next, I popped up the sentiment banner too.

Today, I also stamped a secondary sentiment on the inside. I chose to do it in 2 colors so they could overlap a bit and then also stenciled one paw using the same Big Paws stencil to tie the front in to the inside a little more.

Newton’s Nook – Galloping By…

Happy Wednesday friends! Today I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog sharing a birthday card featuring a couple of the retiring products that are on sale and only available while supplies last! If you have any of the farm collection but don’t have Neigh yet, I highly recommend you snag it. What’s a farm without horses?!?

To create today’s card, I stamped 2 of the horses from Neigh and colored them with my copic markers. I cut them out with the coordinating dies and also stamped and heat embossed my sentiment straight away too. I trimmed the sentiment into strips with my scissors for an imperfect look. Sometimes I just prefer this to banner dies.

Next, I took a piece of kraft cardstock and very messily added gathered twigs distress oxide ink in random places. I spritzed it with water and flicked some watered down ink all over the panel for texture. Then I spread Thermoweb transfer gel blanco through the Hardwood stencil onto the panel and set it aside to dry while I cleaned up and made my tag.

I die cut a white tag with the Fancy Edges Tag dies and inked the bottom with peacock feathers and tumbled glass distress oxide inks. I threaded ribbon through the hole and tied it with twine. Then I added foam squares to my horses and adhered them to that.

With the stenciled panel dry, I heated up my laminator and ran the panel though with a tuscan gold deco foil flock transfer sheet. I peeled the transfer sheet off and ran the panel through my die cutter with the largest Framework die. I added foam tape to the back and popped it on a white card base.

I added foam tape to the tag and adhered it next, then I trimmed the sentiment apart and added foam strips to attach it to the card front.

For finishing touches I just added black glaze pen the the horse’s eyes and then came back with a white gel pen highlight when that was dry. I like the rustic texture of this card so I didn’t add glossy or shimmery anything. I think it’s pretty cool as is!

Newton’s Nook – Hello

Welcome crafty friends! I have needed a few just because cards lately to send to a few specific people and thought this fun design would be one to recreate with lots of different products so I wanted to share it with you. Today’s version is all Newton’s Nook and I just love how it turned out.

I started by inking up a panel with dried marigold distress oxide ink, then I took the Houdstooth stencil and inked Lawn Fawn guava ink through that with a blending brush. Next, I die cut some leaves from the Flower Trio die set and gave them some detail with a copic marker.

I took a scrap of white cardstock and cut it to 1.5×4.25 inches and adhered it at the bottom of my stenciled panel. I arranged the leaves how I wanted them and picked them up with a long piece of post-it tape. I turned them over and added foam squares to the back, removed the release paper and used the post-it tape to line them back up over the seam of the white and stenciled panels. Worked like a charm!

I stamped the typewrite from My Type and colored it with my copic markers, then I stamped a sentiment from the set on the paper and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I added foam squares to the back and popped it up on the leaves.

For finishing touches I glued a scattering of peachy keen jelly drop hearts from Trinity Stamps and added glossy accents to the typewriter buttons.

Isn’t this just so fun! Create a textured background, find something you want to create your border with, choose a focal image and you’re done. I have a few more of these in the works that I’ll be sure to pop in and share as well!

Pink & Main – Spring Greetings Release Day

Welcome everyone! It’s Friday and it’s release day for Pink & Main! Squeeee!!! Soooo much cuteness in this release to get us all geared up for spring and Easter! Today I have a snowglobe shaker card to share with you.

The new Spring Snow Globe Scenes are totally adorable and so fun to create with. I love that they fit in the snow globe but you can use them without it too. I chose these cute birds and colored them with my copics. Then I cut the snow globe backer, acetate window, 6 frames and the base piece. I did a little cloudy inking on the background of my scene and some grass but it very much gets covered up by my glitter filler. After cutting the snow globe base, I inked the edges with dark brown and a blending brush and ran it through my woodgrain embossing folder for texture.

For my background, I die cut the polka hearts cover die from yellow cardstock and wrapped blue twine around the top, tying it in a bow. Then I adhered it to a white card base. I thought it was a little plain so I inked the edges with yellow before adding my snow globe and sentiment banner.

The new vertical spring greetings set is just perfect and gives your card a different look for sure. I popped that banner up with foam strips but adhered my snow globe with liquid glue. They are about the same thickness so it’s perfect.

Here’s a close up of the snow globe full of ice rink and a dab of northern lights super fine glitter. The glitter is so fine that it really moves around great in this fun shaker.

Be sure to head to the Pink & Main shop and check out the rest of the release.

Miss Ink Stamps – So Many Candles…

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I have a bit of Miss Ink Stamps birthday inspiration to share with you. We all need birthday cards from time-to-time and this is a fun one you could customize with the number of candles or even a certain color scheme too.

For my card, I stamped the gnome fireman from Perfect Match and the two candles with flames – lots of candles! I colored it all with my copic markers and used the scan-n-cut to cut it all out.

I took an 4×5.25 inch piece of white cardstock and inked the bottom portion with tea dye and a teeny bit of gathered twigs distress oxide ink to create a cake. Then I inked up a scrap strip of white cardstock with kitsch flamingo and a bit of picked raspberry. I cut the edge of the pink with a Trinity Stamps Celebration Borders die that looks like cake frosting. When I was laying it all out I wanted the look of more candles so I stamped some in the background before layering the frosting on. I used liquid glue to adhere the frosting and then arranged the colored candles on top of that.

I added foam squares to my gnome fireman and popped him in place on the lower left corner of the panel. I die cut a ticket using the Newton’s Nook Framework dies and inked it up the same as the frosting before stamping my sentiment on it and popping it up too. Last, I added foam tape to the whole panel and added it to a white card base.

For finishing touches I added unicorn Stickles to the candle flames and glossy accents to the candles and gnome fireman.

Such a fun little card! I think it would be so fun to make one for a milestone birthday and have the exact number of candles too!
