Trinity Stamps – Batty For You String Art

Well, hello friends! Fancy meeting you here. 😉 I’m over on the Trinity Stamps blog today sharing a fun decoration I made for my festively fall decorated mantel! I make a big deal about the mantel because I’ve wanted one since we bought this house and my wonderful husband built a custom one last winter so this is my first fall season being able to decorate it! It’s so fun!

I love swiping the 2×4 scraps from the garage when my husband builds things. This one is about 6 inches tall. Here’s a little photo step-by-step in case you want to try it out!

Sand your piece of wood down to the smoothness/shape you’re looking for. Then paint it with acrylic paint. For this project I put the dry block in my splatter box and added flicks of pearl and gold watercolor all over it and let it dry.

To make a template for my moon, I die cut a circle from white cardstock and then I took the circle one size smaller and cut the side off, creating a crescent shape. I placed it on my block and used a pencil to make dots about 1/2 inch apart, maybe a little more. If you’re more comfortable, you could mark on your cardstock first so that you know if you like the spacing or not. I’ve done enough of these to just wing it now.

After I marked the dots, I hammered in penny nails so they stick up about a 1/2 inch out of the wood. I tied embroidery thread to one nail and started winding and wrapping. It’s not rocket science and the more imperfect, the more fun it looks…to me at least.

I tied off the thread and trimmed the tails. The knots are hidden beneath the wrapped thread naturally so it’s not a worry. Then I stamped my favorite little bat from Fang-tastic Friends, colored him with simple copics and die cut him out. I added black foam squares under him, it took 3 stacked to get him the same height as the nails.

I stamped a sentiment from the same set and heat embossed it on black cardstock. Then I used the banner die from the 4-Bar Card die set to cut it out. I used a foam strip to attach it to the wood block.

For finishing touches, I added some glossy accents to the bat and then glued a scattering of these awesome Glowing Sky clay embellishments all over. They glow in the dark which makes this extra awesome at night!

I am just tickled with how this fun decoration turned out! Have you ever made string art before? I love the way they look but have had even more fun adding stamped images to the designs over the last year. It changes the whole look!

i-Crafter | Pear Blossom Press – A Haunting We Will Glow Collab Hop

Welcome to the A-Haunting We Will Glow Collab Hop with i-Crafter and Pear Blossom Press! We’re sharing spooky sweet projects for Halloween. Featuring interactive dies from i-Crafter, and with help from Pear Blossom Press, they all really light up! Be sure to hop along with us for lots of inspiration; we’ve come up with some brilliant cards. Let me show you mine…

To create my card I die cut the base panel for the tunnel card from white cardstock 4 times. I ink blended one with distress oxide in blueprint sketch and seedless preserves and another with gathered twigs and black soot. The third panel was inked with distress ink in black soot. Then I used the haunted house add on dies to cut the windows from the 3 inked panels. I spritzed each with water and flicked gold watercolor on them too.

I completed my light up mechanism before assembling the card. This way if I mess up I only have to recreate 1 panel, not 3.

To do that I started with the back panel and adhered iridescent vellum to the back covering the bat and moon openings. I like how this diffuses the light.

I took the halo light and traced the ring on the back of the panel so I could see where to add foam squares. I added those between the cut outs. I also marked where the button sits and stamped “push here” on the other side.

I adhered my light in place and framed the rest of the back with double thick foam tape. Then I took the last tunnel card base I had, trimmed off the edges and adhered it down, securing and hiding my light mechanism.

Next, I followed the general instructions and assembled my tunnel card. After that was done I used some of the smaller dies in the set to decorate my scene.

For the bats, beware and fence I inked up a scrap with carved pumpkin and seedless preserves layered together, then cut them out. For the pumpkins I used carved pumpkin and inked the edges with gathered twigs. Images on the front are adhered with foam squares and anything inside the tunnel is added with liquid glue.

Here’s a look at it all lit up! Spooky and so much fun! I hope you enjoyed this card. I alleviate you sharing your time with me!

Pretty Pink Posh – Hello Fall

Hey friends! Last weekend I got my most recent Pretty Pink Posh release order and could not wait to play! I inked up those sweet Cozy Fall Critters and colored my heart out! Then I had to play with the new Leaves Background stencil too! After I inked up a large panel with the stencil I cut it down for my first card which left me with a good size strip left and I couldn’t just waste it so I made another card to share too!

Aren’t these cards just too fun!?! I love how they turned out! The one on the right was the first and the one on the left was the second one I created. Getting two fantastic cards out of one background is so rewarding and kind of fun to challenge myself to do too!

For this card, I popped the stenciled panel up with foam tape and added a strip of gold glitter paper to the edge. Then I popped the images up with foam squares before finishing things off with white gel pen accents and glossy accents too!

I’ll admit I didn’t plan for a sentiment on this so when I finally decided to add it, I popped the whole card in my MISTI, removing the foam insert so it was flat enough to stamp on, and stamped it that way.

Keeping to the same theme with this card, the stenciled panel is popped up again and the same gold glitter cardstock was added to the edge. I popped the images up to the same level as the stenciled panel and stamped my sentiment in the top right corner this time.

I used the same white gel pen accents and glossy accents for this sweet card as well.

Products used on these cards:
Cozy Fall Critters stamps and dies
Fall Corners stamps and dies
Leaves background stencil
Blending buddy brush
Thermoweb 3D tape roll
Ultra Bond liquid adhesive
Scrapbook adhesives foam squares
Glossy accents
Copic markers

Pink & Main – Snowflake Mania Card and Ornament

Hi there! Today I’m over on the Pink & Main blog sharing this fun snowflake themed Christmas card with a coordinating Christmas ornament to go with it! During the holidays I just love doing little sets like these. It makes it extra fun to give gifts or just pop in the mail together to brighten someone’s day!

All of the products I’m using today were just released earlier this week! So if you haven’t checked it out yet, you need to for sure! It’s bursting with amazing!!!

To start this project, I wanted to play with the snowflake stencil and also the layering snowflake dies…so I did. I used white Thermoweb Glitz Glitter Gel on dark blue cardstock with the snowflake stencil and set it aside to dry.

While that was drying I die cut some elements from the layered snowflakes dies. For the card, I cut the base from vellum, the large piece from white cardstock and the smallest layer from blue glitter paper in the winter glitter paper pad.

Next, I die cut the Merry Christmas from holographic paper and the shadow from white cardstock. I adhered the layers together with EZ Squeeze liquid adhesive but popped the sentiment up with foam squares and popped the snowflake up with foam squares as well.

To complete the card, I trimmed the snowflake background down by 1/8 inch on each side. This cleans up the excess glitz gel and gives it a nice white border from the card base. This panel is popped up with foam strips and then the snowflake is added to the center.

Here’s a closer look at one side of the ornament. I die cut the base piece from white cardstock twice. Then the snowflake outline from holographic paper twice. I used EZ Squeeze liquid adhesive once again to adhered the snowflakes to the shadow and then back-to-back so the whole thing is double-sided.

Finally I took out the sweet Polly and Pete Jolly set and stamped each critter, coloring them in with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, added foam squares and popped one on the center of each side.

I punched a hole in the top of the snowflake and threaded some red baker’s twine through it, tying a knot so it’s ready to hang.

For finishing touches on the critters, I added glossy accents to things like beaks and noses, and unicorn Stickles to their cheeks.

I can’t even pick a favorite product today! They are all so much fun to use and I seriously need some dedicated crafting time because I am itching to make a bundle of these cute snowflakes! They will be everywhere for sure!

Miss Ink Stamps – Everything I Boo…

Hello there! Today I’m playing with the most recent Miss Ink Stamps Halloween release. It’s so stinking cut and super fun to create with. This time I’ve created a simple heart shaped card with a Halloween flair to it.

I stamped and cut out the ghosts from Kindred Spirits and just outlined the inside of them with a B0000 copic marker for that glowing look.

I started creating my card base with Trinity Stamps Nested Hearts dies by cutting the largest heart from black cardstock. Then I folded a piece of white cardstock in half and hung the same die over the top edge by about a 1/4 inch and cut it out. Then I glued the two pieces together. However, because the edge of the white card base was a teeny bit visible I took a black marker and went around the whole edge.

Next, I inked up a scrap of cardstock with distress oxide inks in carved pumpkin and seedless preserves. I sprized it with water and blotted it dry. Then I layerd the Hand Drawn Hearts stencil over top and spread black glitter glitz gel from Thermoweb through it. Once that panel was dry I added foam tape and centered it on the card base. Then I added foam tape to the ghosts and popped them up as well.

I really liked the simple look on the front of this card and didn’t want to muddle it with a sentiment so I stamped and trimmed one from the set, mounted it on a slightly larger piece of black cardstock and adhered it inside.

Just perfect for a significant other and it all fits in an A2 size envelope still!

Products used on today’s card:
Miss Ink Stamps Kindred Spirits stamps
Miss Ink Stamps Hand Drawn Hearts stencil
Trinity Stamps Nested Hearts dies
Distress Oxide – carved pumpkin, seedless preserves

Newton’s Nook – Happiness is Coffee and a Good Book

Hey friends! I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog today with a fall color themed card for your fellow coffee and book lovers! This Sips & Stories set is so me that I have to pull it out to play from time to time just because.

I started by stamping the image from Sips & Stories and colored it with my copic markers. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die and started playing around with my background. I inked up a green piece of cardstock with the Mugs stencil and die cut it with the largest Framework dies. Then I cut a couple of tags and a topper from the Fancy Edges Tag dies and inked them up with the Houndstooth stencil.

I added foam tape to the back of the mugs panel and adhered it to a white card base. Then I adhered my tags and topper together and threaded some ribbon through the top. These are adhered directly to the mugs panel with liquid glue.

I chose a sentiment from the Sips & Stories set and die cut a banner from the Frames & Flags set to match the size I needed. I achieved this by cutting the whole banner, laying my stamp on the die, realigning the die smaller and just cutting one side off. Then I added foam squares to the sentiment and image and popped them in place.

For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to bits on the pillows, the girl’s mug and Newton’s nose. Then I came in with a scattering of white clay hearts from Twiddler’s Nook Sweethearts mix.

I’m super excited to share this card with the recipient and hope they love it as much as I do!

Trinity Stamps – Hello Bootiful

Hey friends! I’m popping in today with a fun Trinity Stamps Halloween slimline card. These products released last year for fall but I didn’t get a chance to use them and there was no way I was going another season without! They are so much fun! I especially love the font of the Hello Bootiful dies, don’t you?!?

To create this card, I ink blended a panel with distress oxides in seedless preserves, twisted citron and carved pumpkin. These three colors have become my staple Halloween trio this year. I love them together and seriously can’t get enough! After they were blended nicely I die cut the panel with the largest scalloped slimline panel die.

Then I stamped the main image from Slimline Boos on a white panel and cut it out with the smallest Stitched Slimline Panels die. I adhered the inked panel to a white card base with liquid glue and popped the ghosts up with foam tape.

Next, I die cut the Hello Bootiful dies five times – black, white, green, purple and orange. I used liquid glue to adhere them together slightly offsetting each layer. Then I used liquid glue to adhere them to the ghost panel.

For finishing touches, I went over the top layer of the sentiment with Wink of Stella glitter brush pen so it shimmers in the light really well! It’s super fun! And, my card is finished!

Products used on today’s card:
Slimline Boos stamps
Slimline Scalloped Panels and Banners dies
Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows dies
Hello Bootiful dies
Distress Oxide – seedless preserves, twisted citron, carved pumpkin

Hey! Hey!!!! It’s release day for Miss Ink Stamps! This Halloween release is beyond amazing and SO MUCH FUN!!! Today I’m sharing a card featuring the new set called Welcome Home and it’s just adorable plus it’s packed with super fun sentiments too!

I started by stamping my critters and coloring them with copic markers. Then I used the scan-n-cut to cut them all out. Next, I stamped the porch image from the set on a large piece of white cardstock and colored it with my copics as well. Then I die cut a Trinity Stamps Embossed Edge Rectangle from kraft cardstock and cut another from inside it to create a thick frame.

I adhred the scene panel to a card base and then added the frame next. For dimension and interest I added all of my critters with foam squares.

Then I chose two sentiments, stamped and trimmed them into strips and popped them up with foam strips as well.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to various things all over the scene like lights, critter noses, pumpkin faces and such. Then I cam in with unicorn Stickles on other fun things like costumes.
