Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Peppermint Spice and Everything Nice

Hello again crafty friends! It’s Tuesday Tea with Twiddler’s Nook over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today and I had an absolute blast creating today’s card. I don’t think I’ve ever been so free thinking with combining products from different companies. It was so fun!

To start my card, I cut the Boo Brew mug and stitching detail from Trinity Stamps from pink cardstock. Then I cut a nested heart to go with it. That’s as far as my planning went. Lol. So I grabbed my blending brushes, Lawn Fawn ballet slippers and guava inks and inked the edges of my die cuts. Then I wanted texture on the background heart so I went looking for a stencil or something. I instantly landed on this Pink & Main woodgrain embossing folder.

I got into my Newton’s Nook stash for my framework dies to cut a background panel and remembered the awesome peppermint candy dies and everything just came together from this point on. I cut the background from white cardstock and then used the petite hearts stencil that was just revealed yesterday (It will be available to purchase on Friday.) I didn’t want everything to be stark white so I used Lawn Fawn pizza crust ink on the edges of the background panel and my card base. To dress up my mug a little I cut the smallest heart from the Heart Frames set from the same cardstock as the large heart and glued it down.

I popped the background panel up with foam tape, then popped the large heart up too. I used a combination of liquid glue and foam squares for my mug and peppermint candies. Then I die cut a stitched banner from Newton’s Nook banner trio die set and stamped a sentiment from the Cup of Cocoa stamp set in ballet slippers ink. I dusted the edges with the same pizza crust ink and popped it up with foam squares too.

I used my scissors to trim off the excess hanging over the edge and moved on to finishing touches. For that I just glue three Trinity Stamps jelly drop hearts down – one to the mug and two by the sentiment banner.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project as much as I did creating it.

Newton’s Nook – Tides of Love Slimline

Hello everyone! I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog today sharing a fun love themed card that would be great for Valentine’s Day or just because. I specifically didn’t use stereotypical lovey colors but I think it would work great with any color palette you chose!

I designed my card by taking the porthole die from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set and laying my stamps out on it to see what I could get to fit in the windows. Once that was decided I stamped everything and colored them with my copic markers. I went for the rainbow in all my critters just for fun. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Next, I die cut a teal panel with the scalloped rectangle from the same slimline die set and inked it up with the waves stencil. Then I cut a white panel with the porthole die and inked the seashells stencil up with orange ink. And finally, for my sentiment I die cut the smallest shape from the Framework set and stamped my sentiment on that before using the same orange ink the give it a little ombre effect.

I didn’t want a white border so I cut a piece of orange cardstock close to the ink color of the seashells and adhered it to a white slimline card base. I popped the waves panel up with foam tape and then popped the seashell panel up on that. I added the images with a combination of foam squares and liquid glue for dimension and interest, finishing things off with the sentiment in between the top and middle portholes.

For finishing touches on this card I added black glaze pen to the eyes of all the critters which really helps them stand out. Full disclosure, I would have added glossy accents all over this fun card but my tip died and the replacements haven’t arrived yet so I pulled out my trusty unicorn Stickles and added some shimmer to the heart images on each critter.

That’s one thing I love about this set. Each critter, obvious or hidden, has hearts on it somewhere. Isn’t that so fun!?!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I really had a lot of fun creating it!

Miss Ink Stamps – Winter Thank You

Hello fabulous friends! Thanks for stopping by today. I’ve pretty much made myself stop making Christmas cards at this point but I’m not letting go of all the cute winter and holiday images yet! So I switched gears to creating some thank you cards to use through the winter months instead. Today I’m sharing this sweet mini scene featuring stamps and stencils from Miss Ink Stamps.

To create my card, I chose a circle die that would fit the image from Warm Winter Wishes and cut it out. Then I stamped the image and colored it with my copic markers. To set the scene, I used BG000 for some snow shading but dark blue ink and a blending brush to shade in the sky. Then I came in with white gel pen accents for falling snow and extra snow drifts on the ground.

Next I took a white panel and cut it down to 4×5.25 inches and adhered it to the Feed the Birds stencil. I spread gold glitter glitz gel through it and set the panel aside to dry. Once it was dry and I started layering things together, I didn’t like all the white so I inked it up with light brown ink and a blending brush for some contrast.

Next, I cut a banner from white cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Fall Bouquet stamp set. I added foam tape to the back of everything, layering on my scene and sentiment first so I could trim off anything hanging over the edge. Then I added the whole panel to a white card base.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to parts like the berries, ornaments and snowman eyes.

Isn’t this just a sweet little scene and so fun with the glittery background!?! I think it will be a perfect thank you card to send someone after Christmas!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Let It Snow Thank You Card

Hello everyone! It’s hard to believe but today is the last Tuesday Tea with Twiddler’s Nook on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog for 2021! Another year has completely flown by! Today I’m sharing a fun mash up card with Newton’s Nook images and some Lawn Fawn dies.

I started my card by stamping images from Newton’s Nook Sending Hugs and Snowman Greetings stamp sets. I colored them with my copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I die cut my background panel from white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflake Backdrop die and inked it up with some Lawn Fawn dye ink and a blending brush. I smooshed some of the ink on my glass mat, sprayed it with water and used a paintbrush to flick it on the background for added texture.

With my background finished, I used it along with my images as guides to die cut a white snowy hill to ground my scene. Then I combined a few Lawn Fawn sets to create a custom sentiment to make this a fun winter thank you card to use after the holidays. The top and bottom sentiments came from Thanks a Latte and the middle word came from Big Thanks. After that was stamped I flicked some paint on the hill as well to tie in the speckles a little. Then I popped it up with foam tape on the bottom of my card front.

Last, I added my images with foam squares and liquid glue and switched over to finishing touches. For that I added glossy accents to the snowman nose, buttons and heart, and the other critter noses and beaks too. Then I added black glaze pen to the eyes with a little white gel pen highlight on Winston. So that everyone had a little shiny interest I also added glossy accents to the coffee cup lid and ribbon on the gift. Then to complete my scene I adhered a scattering of snowflakes from Twiddler’s Nook’s Snowy Day embellishments.

Have you switched gears yet or are you still holiday crafting? I am doing a mix of thank you cards and still making holiday things as I’m inspired. I’ve even thrown in a couple Valentine’s Day cards already too. So fun!

Newton’s Nook – Merry Woof-mas!

Welcome everyone! Today I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog sharing an adorable circular card featuring an array of products that all just seemed to play so well together!

For this card, I had an idea in my head so I started by stamping and heat embossing the Snowfall Roundabout image on white cardstock. Then I inked it up with blue dye inks and a blending brush. Next, I die cut the inked panel with the largest stitched circle from the Circle Frames die set. I pulled another circle die set from my stash and cut a silver glitter cardstock circle just a bit bigger than the Snowfall panel and last I die cut the largest Circle Frames die from white cardstock.

Now, I stamped and colored a puppy from the Christmas Puppies stamp set with my copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out and chose a sentiment to go with him. I thought it would be fun to use the Speech Bubble dies so I cut one of those and stamped it on there.

I wanted to ground the puppy in the scene so I cut another stitched circle from white cardstock and trimmed the top of it with a Sea Border die. Now for assembly! This card has lots of dimension but I just love it!

I started by adhering the snow drift to the snowfall panel with liquid glue, then I popped up the puppy and speech bubble with foam squares. The snowfall panel is glued directly to the silver glitter circle and that is popped up with foam tape.

I created a circle card base by folding a piece of white cardstock in half and shifted it down about a 1/2 inch before die cutting it with the same die I used for the largest scalloped circle layer.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to the puppy’s nose and striped on the candy cane. Then I used unicorn Stickles for the spots on the scarf. Last, I added black glaze pen to the puppy’s eyes to help them pop a little.

Isn’t this card just too cute!?! I can’t get over it! Adorable!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Gerda Steiner | Smells Like Christmas

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! It’s time for another Tuesday Tea over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today. I’m sharing an adorable Christmas card featuring a new-to-me stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs that a friend gifted to me.

I knew I wanted to use this cute mouse and the cup of hot cocoa from the set so I stamped them out but didn’t get any farther than that for a bit. Later on I was scrolling through reels on Instagram and one popped up with someone weaving strips of clay and it hit me! So I headed up to the craft room, chose a fun color palette and cut 1/4 inch strips of the colors and started weaving them together.

Then I colored my images in the same palette that I used for the paper weaving and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I die cut a banner from Newton’s Nook and stamped a sentiment on it before adding foam squares to the back of everything.

Next, I ink blended a white panel with tumbled glass and salty ocean distress oxide inks and spritzed it with water. I stamped the last word for my sentiment in the bottom right corner before adhering the panel to a white card base. Then I added the paper weaving and popped my images and banner in place last.

For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to the mouse’s nose, mittens and boots and the marshmallows in the cup. Then I glued a scattering of snowy day clay embellishments from the Twiddler’s Nook shop around the whole card.

Isn’t this card so happy and fun!?! I just love how it turned out!

Newton’s Nook – Deck the Halls with Inky Paws

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by! I’m excited to be apart of another Newton’s Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! These are so fun and there is so much great holiday inspiration to be had!

I don’t know when it started but I have a thing for nutcrackers at Christmas. So naturally I’m totally drawn to this super fun Nutcrackers stamp set and chose it for today’s card share. I started by stamping one of the images and coloring it with my copic markers. Then I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

I chose 2 patterns from the Meowy Christmas paper pad, cut one at 2×5.5 inches and the other at .25 inches. I adhered them together with scrappy tape and added foam tape to the back.

Next, I cut a white panel to A2 size and inked a light blue shadow behind where my nutcracker is going to go. For a little added interest I flicked some watered down ink on the whole panel as well. Then I adhered the patterned paper to the left side and also popped my nutcracker up with foam squares.

I die cut the smallest circle from the Circle Frames die set out of kraft cardstock and inked the edges with some brown dye ink. I stamped a sentiment from the Nutcracker stamp set on it. Die cut a pinecone and some tree sprigs from the Pine & Holly die set and adhered everything with liquid glue and foam squares.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to all of the buttons on the nutcracker and the tips of his crown as well. Then I came in with black glaze pen on his eyes for a little shine there too.

Pines & Holly dies

Thermoweb – Plaid Flocked Christmas Cards

Hey friends! I hope your holiday weekend was wonderful and you’re off to a great start this week! I’m popping in to share that I’m on the Thermoweb blog today. I have a set of 4 cards featuring deco foil flock and glitz glitter gel.

I have 2 ways to use the flock transfer sheets on the blog post today – transfer gel and a laminator or straight die cutting. It’s one of my favorite things about the flock transfer sheets.

For these fun Newton’s Nook cards, I used transfer gel and my laminator for the first one and used the negative sheet with some glitz gel for the second. No waste and two super fun cards! Stamps dies and stencils from this are all Newton’s Nook.

Then for this style, one layer on each card is just die cut flock transfer sheet. Sometimes we don’t have time to be messy and wait for the transfer gel to dry. This is a super fun alternative. The dies for these cards are all Pink & Main.

If you’d like the supply list, full details and photo tutorial please head over to the Thermoweb blog and check it all out.

Jane’s Doodles – Merry Mice Tags

Hey friends! Jane’s Doodles released a SUPER CUTE digital stamp yesterday – Merry Mice – and I absolutely could not wait to color these sweet images! I seem to be in a kick of making all things Christmas tags so these cuties just flowed together on their own practically.

After printing the stamps, I colored them with my copic markers and used the scan-n-cut to cut them out. Then I used a circle die from Newton’s Nook to cut one sentiment and a Pink & Main large sentiment strip die to cut another. For the third sentiment I actually pulled out Driving Home for Chrimstas, stamped one from it and used a Newton’s Nook banner die to cut it out.

The tags are all cut from the Newton’s Nook Fancy Tag die set. I cut one from kraft and one from white, then I cut toppers for each tag from white cardstock too. I matched some smaller images from other sets to stamp in the background. These snowflakes are also from Driving Home for Christmas.

I popped the images and sentiments up on foam squares. Then I added brown ribbon and red twine to attach the two tags together for each set. I like being able to write on the white one instead of flipping the main tag over. The candy canes for this tag are from Warm and Cozy.

The background images on this tag are from St. Nick. Once everything was adhered, I came back in with glossy accents on all the mouse noses and things like bows, berries and ornaments.

I already have another set of these fabulous images printed and ready for coloring. I’m hoping to get them colored over the holiday weekend.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – National Espresso Day

Hey crafty friends! It’s National Espresso Day and given that it’s my day on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, we couldn’t let it slip passed! So I have a fun themed card for you featuring the new release from Newton’s Nook!

I really wanted to use the new Time for Coffee stamp set and the Coffee House Stories paper pad. They are so much fun and just perfect for today! So I chose an image, stamped and colored it with my copics. Then used the coordinating die to cut it out and started flipping through the fun paper pad!

I chose an array of papers and grabbed the circle frames dies and the frames squared dies (for the circles in it, haha) and started cutting out different size circles. I also cut one from kraft cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Time for Coffee on it.

Moving on to assembly, I adhered the background paper to a white card base with liquid glue. Then I started adding the circles some with liquid glue and some with foam squares. Finally I added my coffee grinder image with foam squares and then went about trimming off anything hanging over the edge.

For finishing touches, I just added some glossy accents to the metal parts of the grinder for a little shine and interest.

I plan on fully celebrating today’s national holiday with a run through the Starbucks line later. How about you?
