Newton’s Nook – Paw-sitive Vibes Tag

Hello everyone! I’m finally back with another Tag Time Saturday. We had a competition last weekend that I made a sweet little tag for but I was running very behind and never got photos of it. So, trust me, it was cute and she liked it. Lol.

Today I have a tag featuring Newton’s Nook stamps, dies and stencils. All colored in my daughter’s school colors to bring the extra good vibes because today is her Category Championships!

School colors are orange and black but I like to add white in with it so it’s not so dark. I stamped the fun balloon image from Sky High Celebrations and colored everything with my copic markers. The pup slightly resembles the coloring of one of our puppies and Newton is colored like our Oreo kitty. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and set it aside to make a crafty mess on my tag base.

I die cut the Bookmark die from light teal cardstock and taped the Cloudy Sky stencil over top. I inked it up with white pigment ink but didn’t think the clouds showed up good enough. So I went bold and switched to iridescent Glitz Gel for sparkly goodness in the background!

The sentiments in this set didn’t totally fit the occasion so I went digging, thinking I would piece something together. Then I found this entire sentiment in the Newton’s Kite set from last spring. It’s fun and perfect! I stamped the large words on a banner from the Banner Trio die set and the rest of the sentiment on a circle from Circle Frames.

Once the glitz gel was dry, I added everything with foam squares. Then I die cut a second tag from white cardstock and threaded ribbon through the holes to attach them together. To finish that part off, I tied a bow with twine and glued it in place at the top.

For finishing touches I added glossy accents to noses and beaks and then all of the balloon highlights. Then I came in with black glaze pen on the puppy and bird eyes. I let it dry and added white highlight back in the puppy’s eyes.
