Simon Says Stamp – Sending Cheer Blog Hop

Happy Friday friends! I’m so excited to be part of the Simon Says Stamp Sending Cheer blog hop! There is so much amazing inspiration along the hop today and then be sure to check in at Simon for another round of inspiration from all new creators tomorrow too!

Today I’m showcasing the Christmas Ornaments stamp set. I had a blast playing with these ornaments before I even starting thinking about card designs. I just stamped to my hearts content a bunch of fun color combos and cut them out to play around. I shared a card on my Instagram yesterday and today I have a whole different idea to share with you.

For this card, I used a fun festive rainbow of ornaments and attached wire ribbon to each one so the ornaments are hanging. Then I added a bow with the same ribbon to the front of each ornament to give that extra finished feel.

I took a piece of teal cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment on the lower left corner. Then I used a corner rounder punch for a different look. I spritzed the panel with Distress Spritz Spray and let it dry. After the panel was dry, I used a cloth to wipe excess off the embossed sentiment.

Next, added foam tape to the back of all my ornaments, keeping it away from the edges. This is because I was mindful that my ornaments would be overlapping each other on the card front and I wasn’t positive how much for each one. I removed the release paper and added the ornaments once I liked my placement.

Last, I added foam tape to the back of the teal panel and removed the release paper at the top. I wrapped the wire ribbon around the top edge and secured it in the foam tape. Then I removed the rest of the release paper from the foam and added the panel to a white card base. Finally, I trimmed the excess off the edges and my card is all finished.

  1. So beautiful! I got a bit burned out on making cards. This release and these amazing bright and cheery creations have me wanting to make a batch of cards!

And you all must be doing something right because the SSS site just keeps crashing so I can’t shop!

  2. Your card just made me smile, the bright colors of the ornaments sent me back to a time when I saw something similar in ornament form hanging on my grandma’s tree. I love all things vintage and the colorful ornaments and your card gave me a days gone by, vintage vibe.
