Thanks for stopping by today. I have another fantastic card using of the Spellbinders The Painter’s Garden die sets. Today I’m creating with the Bird of Paradise dies. These were a dream to create with. So fun and easy to create a gorgeous flower!
Today I started with all colored cardstock and used dye inks to give depth and dimension. Once the blending was done, I curved and shaped all the pieces with my fingers and a bone folder. After the flower was glued together I added some extra depth with copic markers where I felt it needed shading, mostly the orange and blue pieces.
I hot foiled the Woven glimmer plate on black cardstock with iridescent foil for a great textured background. Then for the sentiment I pulled out that fantastic die cutting foam again and made a dimensional glittery hello. These dies came from the Showered with Love collection but I loved the simplicity not taking away from the flower.
After everything was assembled, I thought it needed more texture so I placed the card in my splatter box and flicked white paint on it. This absolutely completes the card for me. I couldn’t love it more!
Hello everyone! I’m on the Pink & Main blog today sharing another fun interactive scratch off card! The new release has a few different additions that work great with the scratch off sticker sheets. Floating By is definitely my favorite!
You have all the fun stamps to choose from with adorable critters and different balloon configurations and shapes. Then you have separate dies that cut just the balloon part for the scratch off sticker. It makes creating these cards a snap! I chose a few of the critters and different balloons to stamp out. Then I colored everything with my copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I chose a balloon to stamp a secret sentiment on and also cut and stamped on a scratch off balloon shape. Then I removed the backing paper and stuck it on the surprise balloon.
To create my background, I cut 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch strip of Middle School cardstock and stenciled glossy gel through the Rainbow Fun stencil all over it. I removed the stencil and sprinkled Sparkle Cottontail Flock on the whole panel. Once it was dry I knocked off the excess and was left with a gorgeous fluffy sparkly rainbow background! I die cut it with a Layered Slim Line die the same side as the scalloped frame in Blessings Slim Line die set. I adhered those together with EZ Squeeze liquid glue.
I adhered all the critters and balloons with liquid glue and trimmed off what was hanging over the edge. Then I added the panel to a slimline card base. Here’s a look at that fun mystery message the balloon has been hiding all this time. Isn’t it so cute!?!
Whenever I create these cards, I use washi tape to stick a scratcher on the inside so the recipient can scratch it off right away to see what’s underneath.
Welcome friends! Today I’m here to share another card featuring a few different sets from the adorable Showered with Love Spellbinders collection. I just adore this whole collection and have been wanted to put the sweet raincoat and boots on the ducky so I finally did it!
I started my card by playing around with the Duck with Umbrella die set to cut and ink blend all my ducky pieces. I used liquid glue to adhere everything and set her aside. Then I used the Raindrops embossing folder on a piece of white cardstock and ink blended from the top left fading to nothing in the bottom right.
Another thing I picked up recently is the new die cutting glitter foam from Spellbinders. I thought this was the perfect time to pull it out and give it a try. It cut like butter! It’s so perfect and pops right up after it comes out of the die. I love it! After I cut the clouds and rainbow from Rain or Shine I started assembling my card.
The clouds and rainbow are adhered with liquid glue and the duck is popped up with foam squares. Then I chose a sentiment from I’ve Got You Covered and cut it out with a banner die from my stash. I didn’t really want a bold black sentiment so I used the same color as the raindrops and then inked up the bottom of the banner before popping it up with foam squares over part of the ducky’s boots.
I love how this fun card turned out! It’s so sweet and totally got me in the mood for all things spring to craft!
Hello everyone! Today I’m over on the Pink & Main blog sharing a pair of really adorable gift tags for Valentine’s Day. This is one of my favorite crafting holidays for tags and treat holders of any kind. I pretty much find any reason to gift something to everyone around me. My family, friends, coworkers, their kids and grandkids. I’m actually not kidding. I love creating little love gifts for everyone!
These super cute tags are being tied so some little bags of chocolates and given to very special people for Valentine’s Day. Kind of a his and hers which is where I pulled in the pink and teal background papers.
I stamped and colored the adorable January Pup image with my copic markers. Then I used the coordinating die to cut him out. Next, I prepped some black cardstock with the magic anti-static brush, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in the new Peppermint Swirl embossing powder. The flecks in the embossing powder are so much fun! Once they were cooled off, I used the coordinating die to cut that out too.
Next, I pulled out my very favorite Fancy Tag die set and cut the elements from white cardstock and then striped from the Year Round Stripes & Dots paper pad. I used EZ Squeeze liquid glue to adhere the tag layers together as well as the puppy on each tag. Then I used foam strips to add the sentiments to each tag.
Finally, I came in with Touch of Gloss on the puppy’s eye and nose, plus the heart inside his curlicue tummy. Once that was dry, I cut and threaded ribbon through the tag hole so they’re all ready to go.
Can’t get enough of these sweeties! Are you making gifts for Valentine’s Day? I would really love to know! I can’t be the only one who goes all out for this holiday.
Hello there everyone! So glad you’re here today. It’s #tagtimesaturday and today I’m playing with a variety of fun products from Heffy Doodle and layering some tags together for a fun and full look. I’m beyond happy with how today’s project turned out and hope my daughter loves it too!
I started this project by choosing a tag shape from the Tiny Tag Trio dies. I cut one from white cardstock knowing I would use it for a backer but could use it for layout in the mean time. Then I chose a sentiment from Very Vertical Greetings stamps and eventually landed on the absolutely adorable chubby unicorn and clouds from Fluffy Puffy Unicorns.
With all of the elements chosen, I narrowed my color palette down to my daughter’s school colors and an accent – yellow. I stamped and colored everything with copic markers, using the coordinating dies to cut the appropriate things out. I glued the clouds to the tag and popped the unicorn up with foam squares.
I thought the hugs sentiment was lacking so I went back for more. I love these fun Pebble Sentiment stamps but there wasn’t room on the tag to add it. When I was looking at the dies for these I remembered there is one that turns them into a tag. I thought an awesome way to incorporate more to my tag is to layer them together with fun twine and ribbon.
When I stamped my pebble sentiment, I chose a light yellow/orange ink and then went over it a second time with a slightly darker ink only on the bottom. I used my finger to blend out the seam before stamping it so it’s not a harsh line.
Finally, I threaded all the layers together with different kinds of ribbon from my stash and then decided to add some finishing touches after all.
I started with stardust Stickles on the clouds and gray parts of the unicorn hair. Then I added glossy accents to the “hugs” sentiment and unicorn’s horn.
There’s just enough room to write a small message on the white tag and my daughter’s name and school is already written on the back of that one so they know where to deliver her package.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project as much as I did creating it! I get happier every time I look at it.
The Newton’s Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentine’s day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!
Today I have a tutorial to show you how to create your own box of chocolates using Newton’s Nook products! Isn’t this so much fun!?! I had a blast creating it and made sure to take photos along the way to make it easy for you to make one too!
I started by die cutting two of the largest hearts and one of the next size down. Then I stamped and colored Heartfelt Roses before die cutting it with the next size down from that. This gives me a box bottom, top and layers for decorating.
Next I created the sides for my box lids. I made one a smidge bigger than the other so they slide together perfectly.
Start with 2 – 1.5×11 inch strips of cardstock matching your lid color. Score them lengthwise at 1/2 inch. Turn and score one at 3 1/4, 6 1/2 and 9 3/4. Score the second one at 3 3/8, 6 3/4 and 10 1/8. Then I made little tick marks about in the center of each section. (See close up photo 3)
On the 1/2 inch side trim little mountain peaks from the center tick mark to the score line on both strips. Then cut the notch off the tab end.
This is a close up of what your strips should look like.
Fold on all your score lines. Then glue the tab to the other side creating 2 triangles. Next, add glue to the mountain peaks so you can adhere them to your box top and bottom.
To adhere the triangles to the lids, I used liquid glue so I could move things if I needed to. Also, I added the smaller triangle first, then layered the other over the top and aligned my heart on top of that.
To decorate my lid, I added the two hearts you saw earlier. First the coral scallop one with liquid glue and then the roses with foam tape. But then I pulled out the banner trio dies and cut one from white cardstock. I chose a sentiment from Heartfelt Love to stamp on it and added it to the box top with foam squares.
For finishing touches I added some clear dew drop hearts across the design. Don’t you love it?!? I’m hoping to make one more using the awesome Love Quarry set for someone special.

Welcome! I’m really excited to be sharing a sneak peek of a brand new product and idea from Waffle Flower! They are starting a subscription kit that is a sneak peek of products coming in a future release! It’s a whole new idea and really fun too! There’s just a few products to play with but they are so fun and you get an idea of what’s coming up from them at the same time!
In this kit you get a couple of oval shaker windows in different sizes, a sweet layered stencil and a small die set. I couldn’t resist using both shaker windows straight away! The smaller one fits the cute bunny ears in the die set perfectly! And the larger one fills your card front beautifully!
The kit comes in this fun zipper pouch to keep your goodies stored in or perhaps to use for future crafty planning too! The card slides out of the pocket on the front and has a few ideas plus the products included in the kit. I love it!
For this first card, I stenciled a panel with the layered Bow stencil using two teal inks. When I was finished I thought it would be fun to step it up by going back and adding glitz glitter gel to the polka dots on the first layer. Then I creating my shaker by die cutting an oval, inking the edges and lining the back with double-sided tape. I attached the shaker window half way around, sprinkled sequins inside and sealed the rest. Then I created my bunny ears and bow and added it to the top with liquid glue.
In hind sight it would be easier to add the sentiment before creating the shaker but I was able to do it as an after thought easy enough. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment last before attaching everything to a card base.
The second time around, I decided to add the sentiment to the cardstock oval so it’s inside the shaker. This sentiment is actually masked off from the Waffle Flower Happy Thanksgiving stamps set. I love how big and bold the word is and it fit perfectly!
This time for shaker bits, I added a rainbow of die cut bows along with my sequins. I love the touch this adds! Then I stenciled the same bows in the background in gray to keep it neutral and not detract from the shaker.
If you’d like to subscribe to this new, fun kit! Head to the Waffle Flower store on Feb. 1 and sign up!
For now though, we’re doing a giveaway of one kit from a commenter on my post! Winner will be chosen on Jan. 30 so comment before then to be entered!
Hey friends! I’m over on the Newton’s Nook blog today with a “sweet” shaker card to share with you! Pun intended. Lol. My intentions were for my heart shaker to look like a box of chocolates and I had so much fun coloring them all!
I started by die cutting the scalloped heart first. Then I lined up the Heartfelt Love image and stamped it. I used copic markers to color everything. I kept to the E30 and E50s for chocolate and R20s for accent colors. I was imagining this to be everything from white to dark chocolate and super yummy to boot!
Once everything was colored, I cut another scalloped heart from kraft and then cut the next smallest heart from that to create a frame. I cut another scalloped heart from acetate and adhered these together with liquid glue. Then I lined the frame with foam strips, sprinkled my pixie dust inside and sealed it up with the colored chocolates.
I die cut a red scalloped rectangle using the largest Frames & Flags die and splattered it with white paint. Once the paint was dry I added foam tape and adhered it to a white card base.
Next, to finish up the box of chocolates, I chose a sentiment from Heartfelt Love, stamped and heat embossed it and then die cut it with the smallest oval in the Oval Frames die set. I punched a hole in it and tied it to the box with sparkle twine from my stash.
To add the heart to my card front, I placed foam tape on the back but avoided the twine so it lays nice and flat. After that, my card is all finished. It’s simple but fun and definitely gives that Valentine vibe I was looking for.
As a way of celebrating continuing on with the Newton’s Nook Design Team and everything they do for us. I am hosting a giveaway of some super fabulous Newton’s Nook goodies. I’ve got a set of the new stickers plus a couple of fabulous stamp sets and a paper pad.
To enter, just comment on here with your favorite Newton’s Nook product – new or old – or maybe something you’d like to see them create! Giveaway closes Feb. 1. Winner will be announced on the blog Feb. 2.
