Miss Ink Stamps – Hip Hippo Hooray

Hello again! Today I’m back with another Miss Ink Stamps card but this one is extra fun and totally adorable too! These hippos are so super cute! Plus today’s card is interactive which makes it even better!

I started by die cutting the parts to my interactive card which come from the Mama Elephant Wiper Surprise die set. Then I cut the tops of the panels with the Lawn Fawn ocean waves border. I inked the top of the waves with a blending brush and Lawn Fawn forget-me-not ink. Next, I took the solid fish images from Hippo Hooray and stamped them in narwhal ink.

I stamped my images from Hippo Hooray and colored them with copics, then used the scan-n-cut to cut them all out and then it was time to start assembling everything. I adhered my wiper mechanism to the back of the front panel and then the panels together. Next, I added my images and moved on to a sentiment.

For that, I stamped and heat embossed it, then trimmed it into a thin strip. I glued it to just part of the card front so that it didn’t inhibit the moving motion needed to let the wiper flip up and down. Just stay to the right of the embossed lines and you’re good. Look at that cute hippo popping up to say hooray! This is too cute!

I don’t ever want finishing touches like glossy accents or Stickles to get in the way of moving pieces on these type of cards, so I left everything to just a few white gel pen highlights and decided this cute card was finished!

I hope you enjoyed it and find a little inspiration to create something wonderful.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Boba Tea Birthday Wishes

Hey everyone! Over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers for another fantastic Tuesday Tea with Twiddler’s Nook! Today I’m playing with some really fun Mama Elephant goodies my family spoiled me with for Christmas.

I simply started by die cutting the penguin favor bag add on from white cardstock and colored it with my copics. Then I had a fun idea to add it to a frame so I pulled out my Avery Elle wonky scalloped frames and cut the largest from teal cardstock. I inked up the center part that the frame cuts out with a couple of purple inks and my blending brushes and decided my penguin needed to hold something. My mind immediately went to the super fun boba tea set so I went to work stamping and coloring one of the cups. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out and started assembling everything.

I found it easiest to adhere my penguin to the inside frame panel and then adhere it to the card base. Then I added the frame around it because it overlaps the side of the penguin just a bit. I carefully tucked the boba cup in the penguins hands and glued it in place. Then I popped the whole thing in my MISTI and stamped my sentiment in the same purple ink that I blended on the panel.

For finishing touches, I added eyelashes to my penguin and glossy accents to the penguin beak, eyes and the bow on her head. Finally, I added some conversation hearts clay bits from the Twiddler’s Nook shop around the sentiment.

Isn’t this just the cutest?!? I seriously have a thing for these big die cut cuties! I love playing around with them!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Mama Elephant – CLC Spring-Summer Hop

Thanks for stopping by for another caffeinated inspiration post. I was counting down the days until this Mama Elephant boba tea set released and I’ve had a blast with it since it came!

To create this fun card, I started by stamping my images and coloring them with my copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I set everything aside to work on the base. I pulled out my Newton’s Nook Frames & Flags and Framework die sets and cut some pieces from softer colors that coordinated with how I colored the images and set to assembling.

The purple scalloped rectangle is popped up with foam tape and then the frame and inside is popped up on that. Then for a little different dimension, I glued 2 of the cups to the frame panel and popped the other images up with foam squares.

Then I die cut a flag using the same Newton’s Nook dies and heat embossed my sentiment in white. I popped it up with foam tape on the top half so it lays flat on the frame. Last, I finished the images off with a few white gel pen accents and highlights.

I’ll be linking this up to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Hop HERE. Are you playing along? I hope so!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Hello Friend

Hello there! I’m over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today for another Tuesday Tea with Twiddler’s Nook. I’m so excited about the fun card share I’ve got today. I loved digging through some of my Mama Elephant stamps and dies that I haven’t used in a while to combine for a super fun card!

To create this fun card, I die cut all the pieces to the chickie favor bag accessory and the coffee cup from the boba shaker dies. I inked up the edges with coordinating distress inks for a little dimension. Then I die cut the hillside cover and laid it all out. It was missing something but I don’t have the chickie agenda and the critters I do have looked weird so I went digging some more. I found my party animals set and thought these chickies were so fun to add! I stamped and colored them with copics. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and moved on to assembly.

The background looked too stark all white so I masked the edges off and inked the middle up with cracked pistachio distress ink for a subtle something. I added that to a card base and started adding pieces. I tucked the big chickie in place and glued the cup and hands down. Then I added the small chickies and realized I didn’t plan for a sentiment. Oops. I tried a few stamps but it didn’t look right so I pulled out my hello friend die and cut it out. I added this with my quickie glue pen (I love this for skinny little pieces like this.) and moved on to finishing touches.

I added glossy accents to all the chickie’s beaks and the big chickie’s eyes. I used black glaze pen on the little chickie’s eyes and then wink of stella glitter brush pen to the cup’s heart and the balloon.

I’m addicted to these favor bag accessories and think they’re perfect to pair with the new boba shaker dies. I can’t wait to make more with other critters and maybe a boba shaker! Stay tuned for the one!

Also, I wanted to remind you that coming this Friday is the start of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover’s Hop! I hope you’re going to play along with us! I look forward to see everyone’s creations and sharing some more fun inspiration too!

Mama Elephant – Just Wanted to Say…

Hi there! I’m back with another card from the bundle of Mama Elephant Stackable Cutie cards I made. This one was super quick to come together but it’s so adorable! I just love it!

To make this card I took some Perfectly Plaid Lawn Fawn paper and die cut it with a stitched rectangle. Then I cut the My Favorite Things Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window from that. Using the window as a guide I inked a pink shadow with my blending buddy brush, and then popped my frame and elephant up with foam tape.

Using my MISTI I stamped a speech bubble above the elephant with the same ink I used for the background. I also stamped part of a sentiment from the Trinity Stamps Hello Senti-mini set and popped it up with a foam strip. Next, I stamped the hello from the same set on the inside of the card in a light blue dye ink.

For finishing touches I added black glaze pen to the eyes, white gel pen accents and a scattering of clay hearts around.

A simple, super sweet card perfect for someone in my life!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Mama Elephant – Stackable Cuties

Hello everyone! I’m still making cards to send to friends and family for a little break in the day. I hope it’s making them smile and as fun for them as it is for me to make and send. I recently pulled out my Mama Elephant Stackable Cuties to play with and made a couple of cards with them.

When I get an inkling like this, I usually stamp and color a bunch of images and make cards afterward. Here is the first one.

To make this card, I die cut the My Favorite Things Arched Window (the next to the largest) from a white cardstock panel that measures 4×5.25. I took the window it cuts out and used my Newton’s Nook clouds stencil to ink up some sky using my Trinity Stamps blending buddy brush and a blue dye ink. Then I die cut a second arch, inked it up with green and die cut it with my grass die from the Newton’s Nook land borders dies. I adhered these together, added my critters and glued it to my card front.

Using my MISTI, I added a couple of appropriate speech bubbles from the same stamp set and then popped my frame up around the scene with foam tape.

I finished this card off with glossy accents on the noses, kitty’s fish and puppy’s bone. Then I scattered some Your Next Stamp gumdrops across the design. Very last, I added black glaze pen to the eyes and white gel pen accents to the images.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Mama Elephant – You’re Tops in My Book

Thanks so much for stopping by again today! Still having fun digging through my stamps and today I rediscovered some Mama Elephant gems I picked up last summer. I wasn’t sure about the colors of this card when everything was separate but once I put it all together, I think it plays very nicely and turned out great!

I started this process by laying my stamps over my grid window die cut to see if things would fit how I wanted. When it did, I stamped my images from Book Worm, colored them and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Next I took an A2 size panel and inked it randomly with tumbled glass, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch distress oxide inks. I spritzed it with water and let it dry before running it through my die cut machine with the grid window die. Using the frame as a guide I glued the square pieces directly to my card base and then popped the frame up with foam tape. I love the dimension this gives. It’s such a cool look.

Next, I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape so they laid nice and flat across the window openings. Then I stamped my sentiment from Good Reads and cut it out by hand. This is adhered the same as the other images.

Finally, I moved on to finishing touches. I added black glaze pen to the eyes, glossy accents to the glasses and some book spines and white gel pen to all the images. Lastly, I added some clay hearts from Honey Bee Stamps in a few various places. I think this adds just a little accent of love and I really like what it does for the overall design.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Newton’s Nook – Hop Into Spring Pop-up Fun

Hello everyone! I’m up on the Newton’s Nook blog today sharing this really fun interactive card featuring the newly released Hop Into Spring bunnies and a guest appearance by a little duckie from Newton’s Rain Boots too! (To create the interactive portion of this card, I used the Mama Elephant Wiper Surprise die set.)

Here’s a peek at the card folded up tight like it’s coming out of the envelope. I just love these sweet images. This time I stamped them in a gray copic-friendly ink for a different, softer look. I kind of like it for a change of pace.

And here it is opened up, with that sweet bunny wishing you a “Hoppy Easter!” Who is that I see peeking in from the left…that sweet duck from Newton’s Rain Boots along with his flower friends from the same set covering the ground.

I used the land borders dies to cut my grassy front panel and the dirt layer too. Then I used the clouds stencil to ink my cloudy sky. I was able to grab the sun from the new sky scene builder so everything is nice and sunshiny bright too!

And then when you pull the card open to reveal the wiper surprise, you get a cute speech bubble wishing you a “Hoppy Easter!” It’s just too fun. I’ve been playing with it endlessly.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Mama Elephant Stackable Cuties Cards

To be honest, I’ve had these guys in my stash since around Mother’s Day and have been so obsessed with the little agenda critters, I hadn’t used them yet. (Face-palm!) They are so adorable and fun to color! I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. Today I’m sharing a couple of quick and simple cards.

Here’s how I did them both:

  • Stamped, colored and die cut critters.
  • Layered patterned paper, frame and white cardstock on the card base.
  • Using the critter for a guide I colored a little gray copic shadow under it and stamped the sentiment. Then popped the critter up with foam squares.
  • To finish them off, I scattered Nuvo Crystal Drops in coordinating colors across the front.

They are just so cuddly and cute! I can’t wait to make more cards with lots of them stacked up! I feel like this design would be fun to make a whole set of cards to give as a gift too.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Mama Elephant Little Agenda Panda Cards

Today is the last day to enter the Mama Elephant top card challenge and I happened to have a whole bundle of pandas sitting on my desk last night so I made a couple more cards to enter.

This first one uses the hillside cover with different distress inks on each hill. I added pandas galore, stamped a few speech bubbles from stackable cuties and scattered color matching sequins throughout.

Pandas are my absolute all-time favorite animal so I just had to have this set and have been chomping at the bit to play with it!

The next card uses some more pandas from the same set but for a birthday card this time.

For this one I blended distress inks on a panel and sprayed it with water. I stacked 3 of the happy birthday die cuts together and glued it on, popping pandas up with foam squares all about. I finished it off with Nuvo crystal drops in coordinating colors all over.

Let’s be real, I was singing “Everybody was kung-fu fighting…hi-ya!” the entire time I made this card. And giggling…I couldn’t resist. Boy cards can be hard to make but I think this one would work great for that!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
